UCI 2014 World Cup Calendar
the UCI isn't responsible for bringing the races. someone, somewhere in BC needs to put together a bid to host a world cup stop. it's a huge undertaking usually having something to do with trying to promote the region to cyclists and the last time i checked, BC really doesn't have a hard time drawing the cycling crowd. don't get me wrong, i'd love to see another WC race brought to Canada but i'd say it's more likely to see a Bromont round again than it is to see a BC race. most of the racers are in BC for Crankworx any ways.

The Kids Don't Ride
I didn't start riding until I was in my early 20s. My parents didn't ride and they still don't know where I caught the bug. I had never really experianced single track before and I went out and bought my first bike on a whim and never looked back. I started out riding downhill but now stick to mainly XC and road riding. You can't force something on kids and expect them to fall in love with it right away. Let them do their thing right now with their friends and you'll be surprised in their late teens when they find other cyclists their age and can't wait to get out on the trails.

Video: Every Day Girls, presented by Saint
I think most people are missing the point of this video. I'm pretty sure SAINT and Micayla didn't make this video to disrespect other racers by telling them they're not training hard enough. While yes, there were more female DH racers on the world cup in the past, DH racing is probably more popular now than ever and with that comes more and more exposure even for the girls. At the end of the day, if a video like this gets even a couple girls thinking "hey i can do that" then it's 100% positive. I think inspiring more girls to get into racing to even get them off the XC bike and onto a DH or freeride bike is a huge success.
