Kona Bicycles' Parent Company Appoints New CFO, Intends to Sell Brand
@WestwardHo: and worse, they're concentrated within those portfolios. We lost Nukeproof, Ragley and Vitus in one go when Wiggle went under. Whatever those brands come back as will not be the same thing.

Kona Bicycles' Parent Company Appoints New CFO, Intends to Sell Brand
I get your desire, but no companies that are PE-funded groups bankers & accountants bought bike companies in 2022 to focus on "small batch, slow-cooked artisanal bespoke bicycles". They kinda buried the lede on this one: the parent company took on 100M in "asset-backed debt" and this new CFO's job will be to cut costs to make the cut-off limbs like Kona look better before they sell them. That probably means less people and non-revenue generating activities (like R&D) and an intense focus on sales & brand value extraction, ex. "Kona Bicycles - available from Canadian Tire this Christmas". I'm not just bitter; I've seen it before, and if there's anything more predictable than how these robber-barons destroy companies with their greed it's the playbook when they try and cleanup & still cash-out on the debris. OK... pretty bitter.

Corporate Drama as Beat Zaugg Claims He's Still CEO of Scott Sports
if you look at this specific case you can see that's futile. Youngone adn their ilk are a parasitic monsters that integrate into everyone's supply chain, especially brands that people think are "small manufacturers". You're either buying directly from the guy who welds your frame or one of these suppliers.

Review: Yoshimura's New Chilao SS Flat Pedals
I always loved machined, flat pedals but the prices have gotten out of control and I've been really happy with a bunch (almost all?) of the composites at a sizeable price discount. Even for DH I'm not convinced the metal ones are more durable where it seems the most likely thing is to bend or shear off a pin.

Pinkbike Poll: What's the Duration of Your Average Weekend Ride?
@inked-up-metalhead: I honestly don't get it; if it's about the distance couldn't you do it faster in a car or a rocket?

Don't you find that the music they're blasting from the bluetooth speaker hanging from the bars covers up the sound of the motor though?

Devinci Announces the All-New Ewoc FS 24’’ Kids' Trail Bike
1. a reference to our national anthem and (unintentional?) zing at our global reputation for politeness, of which pride in one's self would typically not happen (sorry, eh) 2. shallow, marketing word soup that has no deeper meaning than maybe evoking some images or emotions that encourage buying a Devinci bike. The choice is yours.
