For anyone who has visited the Pacific Northwest or for those of us that are fortunate enough to live here, you know how much precipitation the area gets. Locals are constantly checking the weather forecast and trying to plan their adventures around it.

style for miles

We tried to schedule a Squamish trip to ride with Kevin Landry around the weather. But the small window of good weather we had, rapidly closed on us and we spent a couple of days riding in the rain.

These vids coming out of Squamish are amazing! The trails look epic in the forest with all those wet roots and rocks. All mountain heaven by the looks. Defiantly a must visit when I finally get over to Canada!

Squamish has a great trail network and there are trails for every level of riding. It is a must hit location if you are in the Pacific Northwest.

 my local trails suck !!!

If you like riding your bike with a shit eating grin on your face then IMHO Squamish is THE place to go. I've been lucky enough to travel around a decent amount with my bike and nothing comes close to Squamish!

And if you don't like Squamish (although I can't think why you wouldn't) just drive less than an hour north or south to get to two other world renowned and world class riding areas (Whistler and the North Shore)

The only thing I would say for my tea drinking compatriots is to practise your fire road climbing before you go. I was not prepared for a solid hour of fireroad climbing for each descent. Totally worth it but my legs are girlish and weak, especially compared to the 50 year old local dudes disappearing away from me.

Plan around the rain? I'm a local to the lower mainland of bc and you most definitely don't plan around the rain, you get your ass outside and get wet. It's better than the rest of Canada in winter especially this years offering of snow and cold! I'll take rain over crippling freezing cold any day!

I do plan around the rain a bit. I don't ride if it's a hard rain but light rain isn't too bad. We tried a hard rain night ride a few months ago and the trail which is usually awsome when wet was like runny oatmeal. Sometimes it's so wet it actually cleans old mud off my bike. My favourite riding though is when the muddy bit freeze into a grippy rock like surface.

The beauty of trails in the rainforest, the trees make a massive cover over the trails. On hard rainy days it seems like drizzle in the thick woods. That being said, the fire road ride up can get nasty!

Polygonomy is squamish! So awesome! Can never get tired of watching all the videos from there. Definitely on my bucket list for the year.

Is it just me or does the video seem a bit flat and low contrast? The photos in the article seem vibrant and poppy, but the video isn't...

Photos are more easily manipulated than video. A Raw image can be changed a lot in programs like lightroom.
