The limited edition Tyee CF made a real impact when it launched, thanks to its outstanding frame weight, harmonious design and well thought-through component selection - it was an immediate hit. The limited edition quickly sold out, but the new 2016 iteration of the Tyee's are now live and ready to order.

Propain Tyee CF Enduro

Featuring a beautiful design and a sensational frame weight of only 2.3kg (for size M), coupled with stiffness of carbon - currently the most advanced frame building material, offering many advantages to achieve the low weight and high stiffness - the Tyee CF Enduro is now in production. Besides the improvement in frame material, Propain's engineers worked closely with the team riders to further improve the geometry and to build the perfect Enduro race bike, and as you can see from team rider, David Erstling, testing the Propain Tyee CF on local trails in the video above, it's a highly capable machine.

State of the Art Manufacturing:

The light weight and exceptional stiffness qualities are the result of making use of the most advanced methods in carbon manufacturing. Other manufacturers often produce carbon frames from several pieces which are then glued together, but Propain’s Tyee CF front triangle is molded in one piece without any additional bonding. It is a more cost-intensive process, but it allows for increased stiffness while being lighter at the same time.

Attention to details:

A closer look at the new Propain Tyee CF shows many user-friendly solutions and great attention to detail:

• BSA bottom bracket for ease of use and the best compatibility
• Clean look thanks to internal cable routing with large holes
• Exchangeable ISCG mount
• Derailleur hanger design which offers the best possible protection of the carbon structure

Exchangeable ISCG mount with a predetermined breaking point to avoid damage to the frame due to impacts.

Newly designed exchangeable dropouts allow for maximum protection of the chain stay against hard impacts.

Quality First:

When it was put to test, the Tyee CF's carbon fiber frame performed exceptionally well, which should not come as a surprise since quality control is an absolute priority for Propain. During the development process each frame has to withstand hundreds of thousands of load cycles and overload tests, which by far exceed industry standards. The result is the new Tyee CF frame. Robert Krauss, Head of Development at Propain, gives us a brief glimpse into the test procedure at Propain´s own test lab...

Pro10: Small Bump Sensitivity Meets Pedal Efficiency

The Tyee's Pro10 suspension system is specifically designed to maximize the performance of lightweight mid travel air shocks. Based on the experiences with the Tyee AL throughout the years, the Pro10 Suspension design of the Tyee CF has been refined and is the latest evolution and most optimized Pro10 to date. The rear end has more progression to allow outstanding small bump sensitivity and big hit capabilities in one package. The Pro10 suspension system separates the forces caused by braking from the rear suspension which gives you full suspension performance even while braking through turns.

The Perfect Choice for Up AND Downhill:

The frame design has been optimized to minimize pedal kickback and reach 100% Anti-Squat-Performance for the best possible uphill experience. Combined with the proven downhill capabilities of the Pro10 suspension system, the new Tyee CF offers perfect balance for the new generation Enduro race tracks.

I can see that rear mudguard getting clogged in classic Scottish winter conditions. Definitely don't fancy running a shock in that position through winter even with the guard.

 Beauty of a frame though!

Indeed. It has a lovely shape.

Obviously one of the "details" they didn't give "attention"

I honestly don't think it would matter that much, the Rage has been about for 6 years with a similar shock placement and plenty of them in Scotland. Even on my Summum with the shock in front of the chain stay it got clogged really bad but did i notice it not functioning properly? Certainly not. That said I've had my eye on this bike for 2 years now but have struggled to find a vid of them chucking it about in the chocolate sauce, or for that matter one in Scotland to sit on for sizing which has been my biggest issue.

Also... Innes Graham and Phil Atwill have just signed for them so theyll be sure to put them to the test here in forever fuckjng waterworld

I would not buy a bike with the shock on the back of the seat tube again. It makes the bushings wear out too fast. Even with the mudguard to stop direct spray, it will still drip down onto the shock from everywhere else it hits. Inside the front triangle is the only way to go.

No xl?!?!?!?! When are bike companies going to realise that tall people ride bikes as well
  • 5 0
When they realise that short people are riding around on their largest sizes unfortunately...
  • 2 1
And even their large is very short! My large from a different company has a 50mm longer reach, which is longer than most Xlarges! Everyone else needs to get with it.
  • 1 1
 I feel discriminated against!
  • 1 0
They nees to grow each size by at least 2 inches.

My Large Santa Cruz Nomad is shorter in every way than this Large size, I'm 5ft11 and it feels perfect. Numbers can be deceptive, wait to try it first/see one in the flesh!

The aluminium version of the Tyee has been around for a couple of seasons now and the UK team have been running these (or the two face which shares the same shock positioning) since then through British winters and summers (is there a difference?). There has been no more of a clogging issue round the rear shock/fender than any other bike designs the guys have ridden.

The aluminium version also comes in an XL so maybe this is something that will be available at a later date if their is enough demand, I am a tad under 6 ft and the large is perfect for me although I do appreciate I am not the tallest rider out there by a long way ! ;-).
if anyone does want to check out exactly how the large feels drop me a pm and we can hook up for a quick test ride.

Did I just read 11.5kg with a not too offensive price tag!!! Looks like it'll be a right GAS!
  • 3 0
wonder how much it will weigh after uv put some decent tyres on that dont have condom thin tyre walls!
  • 4 0
Probably 500gs more - not too offensive

One of the huge problems with carbon bikes - screw up the sizing and your stuck with the mould and the problem.

These frames are very small, even at 5, 9" I am not feeling the size large toptube length.

Nice looking, but a fail with the sizing....
