Val D Allos winner Vouilloz almost did it again this afternoon but a 9th in one stage is enough to upset your chances. He looked formidable everywhere but came out on top for stage 2 arguably the most technically challenging quarter. During the stages many times you have to push at the maximum... sometimes you have to sprint hard. The only thing that is not similar with downhill is if it is a long stage you cannot be flat out. To put everything into one run you will be feeling short the rest of the day on the other stages.

 Ditto on santa cruz, can't wait to see how they do, with peaty, ratboy, and gracia...going to be entertaining at least! Yeti can't be that bad either, Richie Rude looked like a really hard charging rider in that front page day in the life article, and Graves has certainly proved himself.

 Prediction: With the exception of Graves and Maes the French dominate and the North Americans only get one or two top ten finishes. Hope they prove me wrong, but it will be good racing regardless.

 I wish all the top teams or at least the top ten guys had to wear small live cameras like they put on F1 cars so we can have live racing footage... ahhh one day technology will catch up and events like this will broadcast in some form of 3D just like the holodeck on star trek .. hahah ! Except we'll all be drinking real beer.. not that fairy dust that the computer makes :p ( yes, I am a bit of a nerd, sorry. )
