Got last but had fun doing it. All that matters is if you have fun and can drive yourself home.

I admire that. a lot. I had a ski coach when I was young that used to say "If you're not racing to win, you're not racing!" really ruined racing for me. so much pressure. so little fun.

 Michal kolbeck!!!!

Nice win for KHS and on a single crown setup. Did anyone see what Gwin was riding on????
  • 1 0
 his demo

Props to all the unsponsored riders who raced and placed well! Hope they get picked up by someone...
  • 17 3
Huge props to both Luca and Aaron because they rode downhill bikes where as Kevin as well as myself were on smaller short travel bikes. Hard to compare when one bike has a clear advantage. And I know Aaron was coming off a cold the past few days. It's Fontana people not Fort William, very little funks are given . \^^/

That kid Jason that placed 5th is a wanker..
  • 4 3
 how so?
  • 8 0
He's just really full of himself and thinks Mona's are the shit
  • 2 1
I don't understand the point you're trying to make.
  • 4 1
Pretty sure he stole my friends sdsu jersey too...
  • 2 1
Orion, the fifth place guy loves Kona Stinkies, that is why he is a wanker as Ryan says. Nice snapchat of this Ryan!
  • 1 0
Haha, thats a bummer, cuz the guy in fith place's last name, is my middle name... Exact spelling. Haha, and i raced super d this weekend up there, and dang, that downhil course was barely more technical! Haha, the beginner dh was way easier than super-d even. But go aiello! Love khs, great to see him win this weekend

 Jason SUCKS!!

I heard gwin was shitfaced and doing coke lines off kate upton's tits at some LA club on sat night. Hungover as fuck he still managed to beat the shit out of almost everyone.

 Sounds like a fun evening
  • 3 0
just some good clean family fun in SoCal
  • 9 1
Man, I should have raced pro. My 2:21 would have got me a 17th instead of the 12th I got In expert 19-26. Bunch of sandbaggers in my class...
  • 4 1
There is alot of sand bagging out at that race, i seen people in beginner riding as well as people in expert, but thats fontana for ya.
  • 6 1
that wasn't me last year or anything hahaWink
  • 2 0
 lol nice
  • 2 0
Ya I liked how the guys who got were on podium for exp 34 and under in super D all would have won or gotten like 2nd in pro. BTW not to rain on your parade but 2:21 wouldn't have gotten you 17th
  • 1 0
Those guys are juniors though, pretty sure they can't race pro
  • 7 0
Hell yeah Kevin you deserve to win holding it down for south oc!!
  • 6 0
 way to goo luca commeti!!
  • 1 0
kid is such a ripper. can't wait to see luca go places
  • 6 1
Longer course for pro? Expert times are pretty damned good.
  • 3 2
 Same course

flag rewob (Jan 12, 2014 at 15:07) (Below Threshold)
Wrong. Expert & Sport split up top & met back up.
  • 5 0
I meant pro and expert were the same. He didn't say anything about sport.
  • 1 0
Gwin won, than he won again and again... other riders where two hole years scraching their heads thinking what was his secret... than he got tired of wining and took it slow on training and said. Let them win for me to see if racing is exciting... thats why some hate Gwin cause he won a lot
  • 3 0
Mike Day in the top 10! Didn't see that coming. Love seeing crossover from other disciplines.
  • 8 8
So many Gwin and demo haters I don't think he goes all out on these small races if you would be a pro would you risk of getting a injury and not be able to race we're the big $$$ is at
  • 10 5
He must not be going all out the UCI races either. Even if he is taking it easy, he should be getting first place regardless... It's Fontana!
  • 19 4
That's absolute rubbish Andrew, so in your opinion your number one ranked rider takes it easy at races because there's nothing on the line ?? Sorry dude but that's bull shit. How about you give the guy that beat him some respect and the others that came close.

Tell you now that you don't see gee or any other top Brit turn up at any of our regional or nationals and take it easy, they arrive, win, and leave. And they are nice to everyone in the process. Like a national champ should be.
  • 4 1
That's just my opinion on it I seen him there and looks like a very nice guy would talk to every one but I guess we will see when the wc starts
  • 3 0
Super cool guy. My favorite pro racer. Acts just like one of the guys
  • 3 3
He lost because he was on his big bike, this was a trail bike track. Probably wants to stay on the big bike as much as possible to make sure he is prepared for the world cup races after last year's disappointment. He should just skip Weak Otter and train on some real DH trails. Racing that 29 last year seemed to curse his whole season. He is a cool guy, I agree.
  • 2 1
he was the fastest on a downhill bike. Kevin raced whatever KHS's enduro bike is, so give Gwin some credit where credit is due.
  • 2 1
If he wanted to be ready for the WC season he would be racing proper tracks end of story, these tracks are not reminiscent of any WC course. And I am pretty sure that if he was using this as 'time on the big bike' (which sounds ludicrous btw) then he would be looking for wins.

I am not saying he isn't a cool guy or whatever, but some of the comments are silly. It's great that he turns up at smaller races, fair play to him and any other that takes time to support smaller events, the sport needs it and everybody loves it when a top Pro is there alongside you at the gate BUT none of us want or expect to have to justify why we didn't get our arse handed to us.
  • 4 0
he also lost by 1 second. not much compared to the bike disadvantage. The amount of pedaling at southridge is not normal for something that is considered dh racing.
  • 3 0
give the guy a break. it's a local race series that's mostly just for fun and something to do for the guys during the off-season. ie. nobody really cares that it's not a "proper WC track", so if this type of fun is not for you, oh well. are people just envious they don't have race series where they live???
  • 4 1
Good results Luca and Cody, keep killing it
  • 1 2
Ok I'm sure arron gives to shits .it's a second he lost by that's a pedal stroke or a brake check .

He.probably grabbed whatever bike was closest to the door and went for a ride . Did he even do any practice runs

Khs or it's riders have any world cup wins ?????

World cup season is always away .plus dude rocks moto in the winter

 Nice fucking win buddy!
  • 2 0
Great job it was a fun race
  • 5 3
650b takes a win on a legitimate downhill course!?
  • 5 1
Dudes must be stoked when Gwinner shows up to race lol
  • 9 0
He shows up to every Fontana race...
  • 3 0
And calling it a legitimate downhill course would be a stretch.
  • 3 2
Pretty technical course! I enjoyed it.
  • 11 0
Honestly no one makes a big deal when he shows up. It's like "oh hey, Gwin decided to come. Cool."
  • 2 1
Jimmy0 - hence my question mark, obviously I haven't been there and it was hard to tell from that sketchy go-pro footage... more like go-amateur!
  • 2 0
Got any other pics or vids of the racing and practice? I missed it.
  • 2 0
Wait, that photo isn't even from the race. Only showing the results is just useless. At least this article provided me a little bit of amusement, reading it literally. Guess Fontana's tax revenue will be going to Kevin from now on.
  • 3 0
 Luca killin it!!!
  • 3 1
 Winter ? That's not winter
  • 2 3
So awesome Gwin still can't win hahaha love this for all the khs haters so both Logan and Kevin whopped up on Gwin. Should of stayed with trek bud how's that money winning for you now!
  • 1 0
 What bike was Aiello riding?
  • 3 1
 His trail
  • 2 2
 What?
  • 2 0
A trail bike, whatever KHS has for 650B 6inch department
  • 1 0
So the picture above is not of him? Because if I'm not mistaken, he is riding a dorado as a front fork. Which would lead me to believe he is riding a 650b downhill bike, if he is riding a 650b at all.
  • 1 0
He practiced on both if i'm not mistaken and raced on a trail bike
  • 1 0
yeah hes riding 650b, yes that is him above, but that pic isn't from Fontana
  • 2 1
Aiello is giving Elliot Jackson a run for style in the shoe department.
  • 1 0
Speaking of shoes... Kevin, here's a tip man, when tying your shoe laces, if you wrap the second loop the other way around the first one, the bow tie will be horizontal rather than vertical.
  • 1 0
Lol, but surely it's so his lace doesn't get snagged in his crank, i personally tuck mine in my shoe, he obviously chooses the other way.
  • 1 0
Close times in expert for 8th-3rd
  • 2 1
 Hey good job today btw!
  • 1 0
congrats to andrew terry who came in 13th, hes one likable son of a bitch
  • 1 0
Bet Gwin shed some tears over this one....
  • 2 2
Bet he went to Special Ed crying cuz he got pipped on a trail bike. Where was my enduro bro??
  • 1 0
 Kolby 22th good job grats
  • 3 3
I see me in Jr Ex! 9th place first race baby! haha
  • 1 0
 I was there
  • 1 0
 Yee jayden
  • 2 4
 GWIN lose??? why???
Gwin, WHY????
  • 5 3
Did you not pay attention to any of his results last year? You should be stoked on a second place finish!
  • 3 1
he was fastest on a Downhill bike, and fontana is pedally as hell. Kevin one on his single crown bike, not taking anything away from kevin, but gwin used a harder steed for this area.
  • 1 2
he cannot just go to Spesh and suck every time after so epic wins on WCps
  • 4 1
Yeah dude being in the top ten and on the podium at world cups is sucking
  • 2 4
The problem of Gwin says specialized demo...
  • 8 10
Must suck not to win. Guess he'll just have to gwin and bear it.
  • 2 5
 He won't be gwinning anymore
  • 5 0
dont be too sure about that! he's gwinned it before! RESPECT! this could be a "C" race for him...
  • 7 10
 Gwin must of crashed...
