Best gift for the wife (by far) is a full spa day. She gets what she really wants (let's face it, she doesn't really want any of this stuff) and we get a day to go shred some sweet singletrack!

She's happy. You're happy. It's a win-win.
  • 76 1
The spa is nice... but I'd still rather go ride sweet singletrack with my husband!
  • 11 1
@rachellefrazer You could have had both, but now your husband is going to get you ear warmers instead of a sweet spa day because you asked for it. Wink
  • 10 0
Lol. I do hate having cold ears. Maybe I could go to the spa after a ride?
  • 4 0
@rachellefrazer makes a post for a christmas list the husband askes what she wants for christmas haha Wink
  • 3 0
@aoneal : I totaly agree and I would add a full night as well if you two have small kids.
  • 4 0
Any time I've bought my wife what I think is cool bike gear, I get as much credit as I would buying a roll of toilet paper.
  • 2 0
@rachellefrazer Right on! Sorry to break it to you fellas, but their are girls out there that love MTB gear and riding as much as we do, my wife buys more stuff than me!
  • 1 0
My wife doesn't like spa's... so, whatever.
  • 1 0
My wife got a new Giant Intrigue for Christmas and she is over the moon. I still thinks she wants the spa though.
  • 1 0
Introduce me to these girls please..I need companionship! lol
  • 3 0
No1000 - You are doing it wrong. Try to add a bit of variation: Sit on your hand for 15 minutes or get Batman suit, a tie and off you go to the strongest door handle in your house.
  • 40 1
Well thank god my girlfriend doesn't mountain bike! Wait... what girlfriend?
  • 83 1
I'll be your girlfriend if you buy me a new bike for christmas. Except that my name is Scott. And I'm a guy. I have a penis.
  • 48 0
I knew the internet was a bad place.
  • 6 0
 sounds fair...
  • 3 0
Don't act like you've never looked at your bike like that before
  • 3 0
For some reason, as I read @scottay2hottay comment, I think he literally means he has possession of one, not so much attached as just actually in his possession.
  • 24 0
they should make an article about what to get your non biking wife/girlfriend for christmas. that would help a lot more.
  • 24 2
hey bike and clothing manf. not everything has to be pink for girls.... my wife gets INSANELY pissed when she can only find pink riding kit. i end up buying her mans stuff.
  • 16 0
Don't forget pale blue and purple as well. Or it's lame flowery patterns on (to show everyone that they're really girly as well) my missus hates that crap
  • 5 1
 Is your wife scottay2hottay (above)?
  • 2 0
I hope not. I'll just have a check.
  • 2 0
I went looking for socks yesterday in a sports store for the wife (who rides). Mens socks, 90% black. Womens socks, 5% black, the rest were all the "girl" colors of the rainbow. Very annoying.
  • 1 0
Do you have any suggestions for shoes? my wife only rides flats and she has worn out her last pair of 5010.
  • 1 0
my wife likes her five10's. she doesnt ride enough to kill em every season like i do so it isnt that bad. their ladies colors arent super girly either
  • 13 0
Can we vote on these, cause as a woman, I don't like 90% of what's listed here!! Razz
  • 6 0
They are just ideas, hopefully your man friend knows how to make good choices that suit your needs and taste! Wink
  • 2 0
Awesome, more ideas for everyone! I like that the Castelli jacket's proceeds to go your local rescue, that's sweet. I might have a pair of those mint grips too... Ha ha.
  • 2 0
Rush566... You have the right idea. As a man I realize that we all are stupid. So if our wife/gf wants anything nice they need to give us a very specific list. You should even number them in priority so we don't totally eff it up.
  • 1 0
Haha ya, but you should still do something surprising or we will also be unhappy! Lol
  • 6 0
Seeing I work at a bike shop, my Girlfriend would be stoked to NOT get anything bike related.
  • 2 0
Not 100% true. I like getting bike stuff. How else would I have replaced my brake pads?
  • 5 1
A company that should make this list is Shredly. I just bought a pair of their shorts for the wife for Xmas and they look far better than anything on the market (according to her, who picked them out).
  • 2 1
My wife is also a huge fan of the Shredly stuff! It fits her well and has plenty of flash without just being pink and flowery.
  • 4 1
Shredly stuff is awesome. I am definitely grabbing a pair of their shorts next time I'm in Whistler and they have sizes smaller than a 4 in stock. They are super comfy and actually have pockets on the sides. I can't understand why bike shorts even have back pockets. What am I going to possibly put in there while I'm sitting on a bike? Anyway, I digress...
  • 2 0
I think those patterns are pretty ugly, but that's just me!
  • 4 1
No, that's fair. Many of them aren't my cup of tea but I at least appreciate that they have other colour options than black with hot pink detailing or teal. There's only a couple that I actually like but the fit and style of them are really nice.
  • 2 0
@gpowell Calling you out because you said the hot pink Shredly shorts were pretty OK
  • 2 0
Fine. I'll admit it; I did quite like the hot pink shorts. For this you will be punished.
  • 3 0
That Specialized Ambush helmet is the bees knees. I've had a tough time finding something comfortable that doesn't slip around on my head (and hence something that isn't totally worthless). It's really comfy and easy to adjust.
  • 1 0
Can't stop laughing at this, women are such special creatures they need special chammy cream packaged up with ridiculous soft flowery words, hahaha!

"The only before, during, and after ride chamois cream system designed specifically for women. Each Joy Ride System is a kit which includes all you need to start clean, ride happy, and finish fresh"
  • 1 0
Petal Power was giving out stickers at the Sea Otter: "I Creamed My Shorts"

rad
  • 4 1
Women specific tire levers? I actually have 3 girlfriends. They all stay in my garage, I take really good care of them and I spend a ton of money on them every year.
  • 1 0
I'd like to get my lady some Chromag, Scarab pedals. But I wonder if they will be too big for her size 7 shoes. And should i get them in a color that matches her bike or her favorite color? Any female riders out there tried the Scarabs?
  • 2 0
I have them with size 7.5s and they work great. I would personally match the bike, as long as it is still a fun colour.
  • 1 0
alishab6 what kind of shoes are you riding with?
  • 2 0
 510 impacts and freeriders
  • 1 0
I think I'd get a slap in the face if I bought my wife that Petal Power joyride stuff. That gift might seem a little... indelicate?

I've been married for 20+ years and I still get a little squeamish about women's stuff for, you know, down there.

Now, these are interesting ideas but I'm thinking of some coaching. My wife is new to mountain biking and some good coaching might give her some real confidence.

And then she can ride harder and put some of that chamois cream and those wipes to good use.
  • 1 0
Bought the Endura Women's Convert Softshell for my wife for Christmas a couple of years ago. She HATES it. It's absolutely fantastic, hi quality, durable, lightweight and warm and breathable but it as most certainly been designed by a man... THERE IS A DARNED BALLOON POCKET ON THE BACK! Women hate these things. Same thing with the endura single track pants, they are made to accomodate a liner and still be comfortable to ride but they are 110% Cordura without stretch inserts, therefore they are large on the back. And most woman do not want their backside to look larger than it is.
They really should hire some women in their design department...
  • 1 0
Why recommend ONE women's helmet when you could recommend an entire women's collection????

www.bellhelmets.com/cycling/collections/joy-ride-womens-collection
  • 1 0
True! The Joy Ride initiative itself is also rad. We checked everything out at Interbike: www.pinkbike.com/u/rachellefrazer/blog/more-people-stories-and-products-from-the-show-interbike-2015.html

I find the whole 'Ladies' thing kinda ceksyst...maybe I'm just too PC'd out.
  • 1 0
Ooops - didn't notice this was written by a woman.....scurrying away now
  • 3 1
So I guess only men can be sexist?I think that might be a sexist comment in itself.
  • 1 0
endlessblockades - the moment you don't know what to think is the moment to stop thinking, cancel the scheduled impulsive reaction and move on. Watch it as a Coca-cola Christmas truck-train going by.
  • 1 0
Will you be my Life Coach?
  • 1 0
Yes! Tell me, have you seen seagulls fly without moving their wings on the burning sky of the sunset hour?
  • 1 0
Yes! at evening, sitting on this terrace,
When the sun from the west, beyond Pisa, beyond the mountains of Carrara
Departs, and the world is taken by surprise ...

When the tired flower of Florence is in gloom beneath the glowing
Brown hills surrounding ...

When under the arches of the Ponte Vecchio
A green light enters against stream, flush from the west,
Against the current of obscure Arno ...

Look up, and you see things flying
Between the day and the night;
Bats! with spools of dark thread sewing the shadows together.
  • 1 0
There's your first problem! You keep watching stupid sht instead of riding!
  • 1 0
 Thanks Coach!!!
  • 1 0
Or... You could get her a TLD A1, a six-pack of beer, aaaand a spa day. Problem solved!
  • 1 0
A six-pack on one day at Spa... I'm not sure... then every fat guy in there will look like he has a six-pack! I disapprove!
  • 2 0
 That's a pricey tool kit.
  • 2 0
That Endura purple jacket looks rad!
  • 1 0
Someone please buy their girlfriend/wife the muc off kit. Then video her reaction opening it.
Merry Christmas!

I'm getting my mom bar mitts.
  • 1 0
what are the thoughts put in by the designer fpr G-form compression wear?
  • 2 0
Why do they make the padded part bright yellow? People don't really want to show off their safety gear! Check out the Dainese Rhyolite vest, it's super slick, lightweight and subtle in its design.
  • 1 0
Once you have your jersey on over it you don't see the yellow. They do a black version of it too: g-form.com/en/pro-x-compression-shirt-210.html
  • 1 0
... she's getting the same as I got her last year ...
  • 1 0
Its just come to me one finger gloves! What an idea
