Just bought a set of the saint MX80's a couple weeks ago from CRC. Great pedals, just make sure you install the outside pins and also take off some of the spacers on the already installed pins. That way you wont slip a pedal like I did....
Clipless isn't necessarily worse for tricks, it makes tricks that use your feet such as, no footers or one foot tables, nearly impossible but hand tricks such as, suicide no handers, and t bogs much much easier, and if you are well on clips then clipping on foot out to do a drift is no problem
Buddy, they're called import and export tariffs, and you might want to check your own government for those costs. I'm sure no one here has any problem making money off of you.
^ Really? then how come I can (and have) get much more (Bigger and heavier) from CRC (just as an example) in the UK (A greater distance) for a fraction of this cost?? Yeah, my Govt is making UPS and Jensen charge ridiculous amounts for postage...
Theres different import fees from UK to Aus than there is from US to Aus. Pretty simple dude. Shipping isnt the only cost involved in moving a package from one country to another, and all countries tariffs/customs charges arent the same. But I'm sure youre aware of this.... orrrrr not.
Always read the fine print. You are paying for volume not weight.
These tires have a steel wire bead and cannot be folded. They must be shipped in a wheel box, which is oversized. An oversize shipping charge will apply and is shown in the cart.
I've ordered from jenson and chain reaction both.... jenson charges taxes that don't add up to my federal/ provincial rates, plus delivery... chain reaction doesn't charge anything, and as long as you keep the order below £270 (or something) it slips past canadian customs... If you must, break your order into 2 or 3 separate orders and you will save LARGE coin over jenson... Also, fox and easton won't ship through jenson. In other words--- screw jenson
As an American that has spent about 5 years living in other countries, you quickly learn that import or export tariffs are definitely not to blame for the price rape applied by many retailers. A lot of US companies just don't want to deal with shipping overseas and charge an exorbitant amount and often blame it on tariffs. You know they are full of shit when you can find the same item shipped overseas for a hell of a lot less.
Glad some people are seeing what I'm saying.
If there are any import duties or tariffs due then I have to pay them directly to MY country's Customs Dept myself. Jensen doesn't have to pay dick when it comes to import duties and tariffs!
Actually Canada and the US have a free trade agreement and any time I've ordered from Jenson the shipping and taxes have been ridiculous, I've also ordered from universal cycles and their shipping rates are terrible. I ordered a $10 dollar chainring and paid $35 dollars in shipping. The only reason I bought is cause I couldn't find it anywhere else. Don't take offense, but I have to agree there's no real reason for the high shipping costs
I find they like to make money in the shipping. I got a part for 1$ and shipping was 21.00$ from the US. If I wanted to return it I get me 1$ back but not the 21$ and the shipper makes the cake. you can't eat money but you can eat the food, what if our food ends? money won't be there to save us.
Hey. Just speaking from what I've experienced....Jenson ' s shipping ' s really wild and some companies I have made enquiries to , Voler for instance, have flatly refused to post overseas....
...Also the Australian Customs Service only charges the 5% if the cost of the imported goods is above $1000.00. This charge has no bearing on the shipping cost paid by the supplier. It needs to be paid by the customer.
It is not the shipping companies adding on the exorbitant charges. It is the companies selling the product. Sometimes I would call to see what was going on with the shipping prices and they said they had no idea what shipping would be, so they just charge a set amount that they know will cover it times ten. It sounds more like a deterrence so that they don't have to allocate additional time to properly fill out shipping forms.
I used to ship a lot overseas, and I will tell you all this, USPS is far cheaper than fedex, ups, or dhl when it comes to shipping packages overseas. However when you start getting into larger packages then it is the volume that takes over not the weight. Even with all that being said large companies like Jenson have big discounts with shipping companies because of the volume of packages that they ship. So when you compare Jenson to other companies you are not comparing apples to apples. I shipped a fork to the UK and through USPS the cost was $65. Same fork through FedEx was $175, (that is with a discount) UPS was $197. So in reality it is the shipping companies charging the high prices, unless you ship a large volume of packages to get yourself a discount. And as I said in a previous post, for small retailers shipping overseas comes with risk some just are not willing to take such as fradulent charges. I myself was stung for $15k one year (not including the product loss) for fraudulent charges from overseas. For any small business that is a hard pill to swallow. This is probably the main reason why I no longer ship overseas unless I'm selling some personal items through eBay. There is no protection for the retailer when it comes to credit card fraud.
Watch out for those deep discount Conti tires. Great tires, but there were a few bad production runs that are showing up on sale. I've personallu seen three in the past year bulge and malform making them unridable, and my shop told me they've seen many more.
U have to look at the sidewalls and get the ones made in germany. Some were made is asia and dont last one hard shred sesh. Ones made in germany have the nipples for many rides.
The Tazer frame on clearance says it's on backorder. I'm a little confused. Why would you mark something on clearance when you don't even have it in stock?
For anyone looking at the Nukeproof Mega TR 275 Comp, I have found (and bought) it for £1919 on globalbike.co.uk if anyone is interested. It's a great deal for a new bike.
Decent deal. I want to know why CRC charge £2500 for it in the UK and £1000 less in the US. Doesn't seem right for a UK company to sell dearer in their own country!
Indeed, & that's their argument for why it has to be so expensive: wheels are a double wammy: unsprung AND rotational weight. Their claim is that wide range cassettes don't work with traditional manufacturing processes, because they end up being so heavy that they aren't worth the trade-off.
They can continue to shout it from the heavens while people keep buying conversion kits for their 10 speed setups, as long as they want. people obviously have spoken that that they're willing to make the tradeoff.
Must say those are some good deals but factor in delivery charges and unexpectedly high duty fees and suddenly all those good deals become expensive. But still, better at those prices rather than regular prices.
I've got an north shore billet nw ring also made in Canada. Works very well. I was about sick of looking at RF nw ring on every bike. The nsb ring and blackspire are excellent alternatives if not better.
it is but im sure youve bought stuff online before . i try to shop at the local place but having a part time job and school makes me lean towards online when i cant get hookups or nything

Don't get me wrong I'll probably still use em for DH racing because the benefits are huge but this injury will always be in the back of my mind...
that was the point, Americans are scared of shipping over seas
