The Californian accessories manufacturer Lezyne and Danny MacAskill will renew their cooperation for another two years. Reason enough for Lezyne to launch its new MacAskill Signature products: the MacAskill Block Tool and the MacAskill Travel Drive Pump.
You don’t necessarily have to nail front flips from telephone boxes or jump down twenty-foot drops to be aware of the requirements for regular bike care. In the case of Danny MacAskill, who often exposes his famous orange Trial bike to extreme stress, bike care could not be more important. For a trained bike mechanic like Danny, who now enjoys bike maintenance in his down time, partnering up with the high-grade tool manufacturer Lezyne is a great pleasure. In fact, Danny hit the nail on the head with Lezyne: the quality of their tools and their stylish design are the main reasons, why the Scottish YouTube wunderkind chose to enter into a partnership with the bike accessories manufacturer.
MacAskill and Lezyne started their cooperation earlier this year and so far both sides have benefited from this decision. A corporate YouTube-project, already well over the million-click benchmark, shows Danny returning to his old work place, a small bike-shop in the city center of Edinburgh, where he tries out his new Lezyne-equipment for the first time:
During the summer, Danny took part in a bike mechanic workshop at a trial youth camp. Lezyne supported this event with a screwdriver workshop, where they taught kids how to utilize a bike multi-tool. You'll find the video here.

I spend huuuuge amounts of money on my bike, but I seriously don't see the point in buying an 80€ (100$) pump which will do the job just like the one that costs you 30 bucks... I'd rather spend the cash on a new handlebar or saddle!!
Some might argue that it is a precision instrument, but i think most of PB users guess tyre pressure by hand.
Call me crazy, but I'll stick to my old pump and instead get some petrol to drive to my favourite trails
I love their design, but dont like the price either. If I housed a team out of my garage, I would consider it. I do, however, disagree about pressures by hand. I prefer specific pressures with certain trail conditions.
i like joeblow pumps myself ...but seriously, they're great pumps, i use one in the shop every day and at home and the only thing i have had to replace in god knows how long is the head because the seal was a bit worn but this will happen to any pump with extended use.
Yeah, its the travel version or something so it takes less space. the handle is smaller too, i think its only one hand which is why it has the hole in, for fingers. If i'm going to a trail centre, I dont exactly find it hard to pack a proper pump though!
you guys are crazy. this is great. just the other day i was carrying my pump wishing i had a bag to carry it in. also all the ladys will see danny's name and know im the shit. maybe even the guys in the bike shop will think im cool now.
I have such a huge respect for this guy so don`t get me wrong... I knew that eventually he would get his own line of products, but I never thought that it would be a tool kit. Come on... a shredder like him deserves more than a signature hex-key tool!
These are the corniest tools I have ever scene. overpriced to the nines, and looks very stupid with a pro riders name on your air pump hahaha. I'd much rather see a pump in pink representing breast cancer or just about any other cause.. just my 2 sense. I've just never cared about pro rider Memorabilia, its always seemed super corny to have some pro riders name on your bike or helmet. like the steve peat helmets from troy lee. when I see someone with one I instantly think..... tool...
well its just an allen key set with a single torx. I wouldnt concider it a multi tool unless it had at least a chaintool spoke wrench and philips. if you buy an allen key set similar to the one shown above, you could get it from canadian tire for like 5 bucks.
Well I can say Ive learned something today thanks to this article. Never heard the term Inbus today, so googled it- Hex keys can be called hex or allen keys of course, but also Inbus, Unbrako, and Zeta key/wrench, as well as female hex. Damn, what did we do before Google?? It could have taken a day tracking down knowledgeable folks or books that know so much about hexagonal pieces of steel bent into an L shape and are aware of the many terms for them. Now Im smarter with more useless info in my skull!
id rather have my own name engraved on a set of foldable allens...theres a much smarter idea for you Lezyne. this just seems pointless - but i do love dannys riding and my Lezyne bike light
Beautiful bling, but soooo preaching to the wrong crowd..we ride bikes, put 90% of our cash to our bikes and generally want a tool that does the job 'not a tool that we fakely smile at the camera for". Nice design and all but ill take a 30 buck pump that does the same job and put that other $70 bucks towards a new minion thank you very much.
I don't see the issue with it! If you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm sure plenty of people will like it and buy it. At the end of the day, these companies are not stupid, they do market research and obviously think they have a market for it and can sell it - if they didn't they would bother shelling out cash to Danny and other riders. Just because a few people on one forum don't like the price doesn't mean it will fail. Personally, I think this is great as Danny will hopefully be making some decent cash out of Lezne and I don't begrudge him making a decent living based on his skills - if he has to put his name to some products to do that then so be it. What would be far worse is if guys like Danny couldn't make any money out of cycling and ended up doing something else to make a living.
Wow, what a contribution, Lezyne goes to all that trouble teaching kids how to use a set of allen keys, what a super company! Kids could never ever figure that out themselves... Danny's an incredible rider but this was a pretty lame move...

Come on it's cool guys, I would rather have my own signature multi-tool over shoes, but the ultimate signature item is either tires or pedals. Danny has signature everything.
Do companies like this even do any market testing before they launch a product? Seems like an insanely stupid idea and something that is (judging by the previous comments) negatively accepted by the biking community.
Well gotta say... Danny's riding is the shit!! however 18 euros(30 dollars) for a tool that has fewer bits than my 12 dollar evo... and then a hundred dollar pump... something is awry.... Must be the apocalypse!!
Californian tool manufacture, thats a laugh. Its 100% made in an Asian country I bet. The reason they are expensive shit is only because of his deal, he is making good coin I am sure. Dont fall for this crap
Who cares whos name is on it. Its a very proctical tool. I mean a 2.5 is not usually in a set, specially along with a torx25 thrown in for your brake rotor bolts.
