Been waiting for this big mountain segment for so long... Couldn't help but laugh at 3:30 "So stoked to be out in the zone the terrain here is just unreal" (Matt Dennison)
one of the best episodes ! So nice to watch how they share the fun. In the same way it is quite depressing, I mean their "so fun" lines would be my "fight for life or die" ones. Damn...
Dude that is so rad! Me and one of my buddies were out at that same area when they were there. I saw Brandon ride by on his dirtbike when I was getting ready to do a line. I saw Semenuk on his helmet and i knew it was him but i didn't know that they were working on an episode of life behind bars that is so cool.
So if these guys get injured and need emergency medical treatment, does their health insurance pay for it or are they on their own to pay the bill because technically any injury would be their fault? As is my understanding of American health insurance industry, they look for any excuse to not pay for your bill and sustaining injury while extreme mountain biking would give them a valid excuse to say to you 'sorry we're not paying for your hospital bills" I'm just curious how this would work in the U.S.
I broke my collarbone earlier riding earlier this year, insurance covered it. It's not as streamlined and simple as the Canadian system but the lack of coverage tends to be a little exaggerated.
Yeah they can't refuse coverage, however lots folks here do not have health insurance or if they do it's not terribly good. I think that's what spawns these types of stories.
It depends on what you sign up for and yes insurance companies are absolute scum, especially towards the younger fellas getting covered because they're higher risk. It does cost way more to get more complete coverage/ certain treatments covered especially if your job is being a mountain biker, but as long as you spend the time and effort, you can usually get an appropriate plan... and it's not as bad as it was a few years ago where they could deny you coverage and claim it was a pre-existing condition on top of other BS.
Privatized healthcare is the biggest scam and there is a recording of Nixon (the pres. who pushed it through) chatting with advisers how the very purpose of having privatized healthcare is so his buddies/himself could get insanely rich.
webbe - Im pretty sure you meant to write that comment on another politically charged website. NPR perhaps? Surely you did not mean to write that on Pinkbike...
They're so responsive to comments, they went back in time and reposted it to YouTube. You need to drink 2 cases of redbull to go back in time. It's a lot to drink, but it really works!
I dont know why you are getting downvoted. This is a very dull episode with almost no riding. Still good to watch but poor in comparison to other episodes.
I expected has much @humoroususername, it's the Brandon fan boys. Fact is it was boring, but only because the standard is usually high. Still, looking forward to rad company.
