Amazing scenery and incredible riding. Tried riding sand cliffs in Alaska and it is way harder than it looks. One gripe I had with this short edit (and maybe this was the point.. for brevity) was that there was no narrative. No story. No "plot"? Yeah, the plot is to ride bikes. End of story. But how about the idea behind this.. Or the guys' first experiences in Namibia? Or their vehicle-mechanical? It would have been cool to turn this into a 2 or 3 part vid with more "character development" to really empathize and get into the whole experience.
Lacy has been doing some good shit with the Beyond the Bikes - they're short edits, too, and wicked story-telling.
Has story telling has become a lost art in favour of flashy action montages? I sure hope not...
This was my first guess, but maybe there is some dry lube like a kind of wax. Really old bikes, like military bikes of the world war two, had often chains lubricated with a hot candle wax, which cooled down and became almost dry. This was our gradfathers's way, especially for winter riding.
It was actually not bad at all. We didn't lube them so they are dry. It's not a lot of pedalling anyways and you just give the bikes a nice cleaning session afterwards.
It is a country name. What if somebody wrote SA instead USA or Canda instead of Canada. It is time to say sorry and correct the title. Nothing happened, everybody makes mistakes, but this one should be corrected. It is about political politensess.
If someone mis-spelled the name of my country, I'd attribute it to more of a mistake or simple lack of knowledge. People put too much emphasis on being politically polite.
Honestly, that trip would have been way more fun with some motos. A trials bike for the first two segments then a big enduro with a paddle tire and you couldn't punch a grin off your face. Not enough elevation to make it worth traveling all that way with the old push iron imho.
Would have been sick for sure man as well but to be honest this was the most fun thing we have ever done on a mtb so I guess it wasn't a total disaster to do it that way
