My guess is that was the point of the video, to gather favor the same way Hunter blew e'erybody's goddamn mind with his initial seemingly unbelievable pic, then the concurrent video evidence. That stuff does take a lot of skill, of course, but with the right trail feature ie rising hard-banked berm and tons of speed, it makes that kind of thing a lot more manageable. They built that feature for that expressed purpose, so he could drag an arm in the dirt.

DRDoctor nailed it. They are basically hand cut bowls. Its like a skatepark bowl with enough dirt in the center so you can hit your elbow on it....
