The back bone of any scene are the riders. The guys and girls with day jobs, school, families, and careers who still find the time to ride at every opportunity. Regular people from all walks of life that are united by their passion for getting out on their bikes. These are the people who make bike riding what it is. Bell Helmets decided it was time to put on a series of events that celebrate these riders who make our scene such a strong community, and the Bell Ride Free Days was born.
The idea was simple, open up some of the UK’s best bike parks and their facilities to every day riders free of charge. Give back to the riders by offering them free access, free uplifts, free products, and the opportunity to ride with some of the Bell pro’s as well. An epic day of riding with their mates all hosted by Bell Helmets at no cost to the riders themselves.
The first stop was at the Forest of Dean. With the sun making an appearance from the start and turning the dirt to dust, we coudln’t have asked for a better day for riding bikes with our friends. A total of 200 hundred like minded riders arrived at the trail centre for the day. Fly-Up took care of the uplift duties and kept the runs going all day long and the good folks at Pedal a Bike Away were kind enough to host a BBQ, and their Café was serving up great food for the riders all day long. The trails were fast and dusty, with conditions as close to perfect as you could ask for. Finally when the dust had settled and all the prizes from Bell Helmets had been handed out, a great and fully packed day of riding finally came to an end. Thanks to everyone who supported the event, bring on the next one.
Here is to the riders!
