In ''Brendan on his bike'',i'm lost a little more in use of bike:
He ride a Dh for slow skinny and ride an enduro for fast trail and jump...

small bikes are more fun to ride
  • 23 4
@caste1200: That's a bold statement. I ride both a small bike (old Enduro) and a big bike (a quite pimped out Status), and they're each a whole different beast. Small bikes are indeed fun, you can easily take one for an all day ride, or a sweet rip down a fresh loamy trail, just because loams that are only accessible by pedalling up(or pushing) last longer, and generally XC trails stay in a better condition for longer.

On the other side, when I jump on the big bike, and either point it down Canadian Open course in Whistler going full speed, then loving every degree of my slack head angle on the steep north shore trails, and finish it off going ridiculously fast down a ridiculously steep sandy chute which would just be nearly impossible (for me!) on a small bike, it makes for some of the best moments in my life.

I'd say neither is more fun, they're just different experiences. Just like road biking is different from all mountain riding, and I don't fully comprehend roadies, I'll not say AM is more fun (even though to me it clearly is!).

Basically you are saying it depends what type of trail you are riding. I remember that skinny north shore stuff - never a fan. It just seemed so pointless, too much risk for too little reward. Also, a dh bike is the worst choice for it - a trials bike is what you need.

 Who cares....he had Metallica! !!!!
  • 15 1
To answer your confusion about my choice of bike use. We didn't film the video in a short period of time it took us a long time to film it because half the time we ended up just riding instead of filming and about halfway through I had bought a new bike.

@kunther - good point well made sir.

@ mr duck. on the road you have more tea rooms and more chicks and more versiontitsels thats about it...
in the forest you have defenitly more versatility in terrain. and way more control on a mtb then on a roadbike since roadbikes are made to go fast asap, and to sit on. but i still like the screaming of my tires on the road. still i find it way more bad ass what freeriders do then the roadbikers. its just not my version of riding funny how the street riding is so much more known and supported to the folks then the extreme riding, cause freeride and mtnride is just the extreme version of riding a bike.maybe it a matter of evolution you can do it extreme in the street aswell .good luck enjoy your ride. thats the most important

@tremeer023: well myself when I say north shore, I see big steep rockfaces, not skinny bridges. I actually hate those just for the reason you say. I enjoy going fast on a bike, or clearing a nasty gap or a rock slab. On the other side is a skinny, where you go at low speed, but can crash with high consequences. Big sacrifice-low payoff situation I'd say Smile That is, however, purely a matter of personal preference.
  • 1 1
Yeh. I think when the whole north shore came about the skinny stuff became popular but some of it was riding a wooden platform for the sake of it. Now things have thankfully moved on and wooden trail is wider and either used for boggy/unridable sections or kickers and drops which makes much more sense.
I would say that I have never been to Whistler though so I'm not exactly an expert !

Haha, ya I gave up on skinnys a long time ago. Never really figured out what all the hype is about with those. But theres nothin better than a freight train to shleyer/can-open. Nothing
  • 1 0
@downhilladdict: Actually there is. In deep > Freight train anytime! Wrap it up in goat's gully and o-sin and you have the best ever garbo lap! OK I may have overdone that one this season though. But I still love it!

Watching granny yammer on really makes me wanna shred the gnar.... Hahaha, you sir just put a smile on my face. Although I did actually watch it.

It should be mandatory to watch things like that, it's so sad how much culture has disappeared in the last 100 years.

True, I hope your opposing the largest on shore wind farm in the world which will decimate the Sami people's way of life in Northern Sweden. Is there any pertitions going yet?
  • 5 1
The effects of wind farms and mining on the Sami's is a pretty hot topic, unfortunately the law does not provide tools to deal with such problems in a sufficient way. The population in north of Sweden is only about 12% of the ones living in Sweden and the state has kind of made it a tradition of theres to use our landscape without our support. Don't know exactly with wind farm you are talking about but in other cases there has been a lot of protest against such things.

I'm positive to developing of green energy but too many times things has gone wrong, it has to be done with care and Sami peoples right to be able to use the land is one of the most important things preserve.

Another profound Monday Movie. PB keep the Wildcards coming, always nice to be surprised and inspired by something different. Someone should name a bike "The Wukchumni", maybe Kona. Glad the lizard won the race for sure.

Also, it's good to Jeff Lenosky pushing himself and still evolving as rider.

Why the hell does Tahnée Seagrave walk onto the podium with a RedBull can?
I don't know anything about it, but I doubt that's how you get them to sponsor you.
  • 29 3
Maybe something completely off the walls, maybe she's drinking it? Mind Blown.

They're athletes, they get paid to represent brands, why would she represent a brand that's not paying her at the moment where she is most photographed. And I don't know about you, but generally when I drink something, I open the can. Mind Blown.
  • 8 1
Is there anything to say she isn't in the process of signing a deal with Red Bull? If I were in her position (one in which she could quite reasonably be picked up by a massive sponsor like that), I'd probably want to make them as happy as I could; irregardless of whether I was currently riding for them so long as it didn't infringe upon other commitments.
  • 15 0
Maybe she's hiding beer in the RedBull can? That's what I would do.
  • 11 1
Was Redbull a sponsor of the event? Perhaps someone handed it to her on her way to the podium?
  • 4 0
She should be drinking tap water to send a message to the world...

@Iamwarthog Ratboy doesn't seem to feel the need to hide it
