Where The Trail Ends - Behind the Scenes: What goes into creating a classic mountain bike film?

The Kiwis - Dreamland: The Perfect Line crew in New Zealand spend their nights dreaming of shredding huge, dusty jumps. The only thing for it is to hop on a plane and head to NZ's adventure sports capital, Queenstown, on the South Island. Great weather, awesome jumps, immaculately groomed tracks... this place is one of the best destinations for any outdoor lover and it should be on every mountain biker's bucket list.

Is It Possible To Build Flow? Johannes Riebl and Dino Pfeilschmidt went to Crans-Montana in Switzerland looking for mountain bike jumps. What they found was a candy shop of a bike park in the biking mecca of Châtel Bike Park, home of the famous event, Châtel Mountain Style. With trails (and jumps) to fit all levels of riders they dove straight in and tried to ride as many trails as they could in one day. They couldn't get through them all but they had an awesome time doing it. They also sat down with one of the shapers to learn how you make so many awesome, flowy trails.

Occupation - MTB Rider: Szymon Godziek is a professional MTB slopestyle rider. It might be a very unusual and extreme occupation, but it's still a job.

Fixed Perspective 3D Bike Course: This is different.

Arrival - Coast Gravity Park Full Segment: Enjoy the closing segment to the Coastal Crew's film ''Arrival.'' Curtis Robinson, Kyle Norbraten, Dylan Dunkerton, Matty Miles, and Ryan Howard in one segment - it's good people.

Let Us Roam - Greg Hunt: Greg Hunt is a director and cinematographer that has shot some of the most influential skateboarding films of our time. He discovered photography and filmmaking while he was a pro skateboarder for Stereo Skateboards. After the making of the film “A Visual Sound”, he knew he wanted to buy a 16mm film camera. This purchase pushed him to take cinematography seriously and he’s never put the camera down since. Greg is now shooting the very first Vans skateboarding film and is in his final year of production. This film follows his path from skateboarder to filmmaker and offers a peek into his filmmaking process behind the Vans skate film.

SLOMO: Disillusioned with his life, Dr. John Kitchin abandons his career as a neurologist and moves to Pacific Beach. There, he undergoes a radical transformation into SLOMO, trading his lab coat for a pair of rollerblades and his IRA for a taste of divinity.

Wintertide: This is an amazing film. Athletes: Dylan Siggers, Zak Mousseau, Max Morello, Mikel Witlox, Dean Bercovitch, Alexi Godboot, Simon Stulburg and Greyson Herdman. Directed by: Zac Moxley, Kalum Ko and Dylan Siggers.

Do what you like - and never be an asshole. Pretty much the best solution to happiness.

Slowmo: He made a huge decision towards his personal goals, something that most of us could not do, even if we wanted to. It's so easy to get overwhelmed by materialism and forget what and why you really live for (yey big car, yey big house, yey sailing boat, paintings what ever to sink your money to).

First minute I thought this guy was not taking his medicine for some newly found sickness.

But he was actually a doctor of high degree? And deep thoughtful voice with something behind his words? Superb he doesn't give a s*** what others think about of him or his style. He does what he enjoys the most in his life. Even if it is something simple and to some, weird. I wonder how many in similar situation would choose his scenario. As stupid as it sounds: how many would rather work that 12 hour shift, just to return to that 17 roomed mansion and sip some of that diamond powder liquid to take your health away. After all you spent half of your days to build yourself to that point, so why not to suffer a bit more. Instead, at certain point when you somewhat have gotten what our twisted society values, downscale to indian level and do what you enjoy the most. A thought that is not simple to find. It's not much material you can carry with you when you pass away. How many of us ponder at deathbed, that we didn't work hard enough? slomo figured it out. Mayby cycling is something like this to me.. or for most of us.

TLDR: deeper stuff in slomo

Sort of........the message of this film is you have to become an asshole to get financially in a position not to become an asshole.....I 'd love to spend my life riding down trails all day. I just can't afford to.Right time to be an asshole!

He became a wealthy butthole, just caring about himself and material stuff - failed marriage, a kid he most likely doesn't know and had no true friends or any interest in anything else outside himself and gathering wealth. True , by the time he chucked it all, he was financially set for life to just skate away. That's why the lesson here is to enjoy it along the way. No need ever to be a butthole.

You never go to the boardwalk without seeing this guy. I never knew his story before this. Just a guy on some skates with a whole lot of spare time. He has never looked anything but happy. Now I know, thanks.

I would probably pay money to see whats on slomo's ipod.

Dorfoling, Sorge, Buehler and Aggy = All Star Gnar. It would be the greatest MTB video series ever made. They ride together anyways. The only budget they would need is a trail dog with a POV camera mounted to it's back. Hopefully that dog can fly.
