Video: Friday Fails #129
The number of OTB's here make a pretty strong case that head tube angles aren't slack enough. Clear evidence that we need the Grim Donut

Maverick ML7

$750 USD
For Sale Maverick ML7 with Marzocchi Bomber Fork Size Large $750 Probably one of the best bikes to come out of the mid-2000’s, designed by Paul Turner founder of RockShox and inventor of mountain bike suspension this frame kicks ass and still has a cult following. Paul started Maverick bikes as a hand-made in the USA bike company after he retired from Rockshox. Thanks to its Monolink suspension design it pedals like a hardtail, but crushes the downhill. In the front is another classic the Marzocchi Bomber MCR fork with 130mm of travel. It has a coil spring, lockout, and is one of the most bombproof forks ever made. This bike rips and with a respectable 69-degree headtube angle can handle just about anything Tahoe has to throw at it. It won’t plow effortlessly through rock gardens or save you if you take off a big jump the wrong way, but it is reliable and really fun. Plus it has a sweet custom engraved head badge. A fresh oil change on both the rear shock and fork. Maverick Suspension in Colorado can service the rear shock and provide any frame specific hardware you need. The front fork rarely needs servicing, but is simple enough just about any bike shop can take care of it. This bike is a size large and would best fit someone in the 5’9-6’0 range. It is a great option for someone who wants a capable bike that works well but isn’t ready to shell out $3,000+. This bike has definitely been ridden, but also well-loved. No cracks, dents, or major chain slap, but has the scuffs and cable rub that happens with regular use. The fork stanchions are in great shape. Brakes are bled and drivetrain is dialed. At 26 pounds this bike also climbs very well. Drivetrain XT shadow clutch derailleur XT cassette 11-36 cassette Raceface narrow wide 34T front cog SLX 10 speed shifter XT cranks and bottom bracket Brakes Shimano SLX M615 hydraulic front and rear with Icetech rotors Spank Spoon 780mm handlebars with a 45mm stem Rubber WTB Vigilante 2.3 26” Bontrager QR wheels 26” Rear is set up tubless. Front has a tubeless rim, but not tubless tire so has a tube in it. Ritchey seatpost and Bontrager seat. Pedals. Your choice a decent pair of shadow mtb pedals (plastic) or a pair of Look SPD pedals. The look pedals only work on 1 of 2 sides. Extras: 70$ worth of stuff I’ll include with the bike that you’re going to need if you’ll be biking a bunch. Topeak Shock pump Spare 26’ tube 10 speed masterlink Spank Mudguard 7.5 and 15wt shock oil for suspension service 10ml oil syringe 21mm socket for fork oil changing. PDF manuals of the frame, rear shock, and fork Both front and rear shocks can go a long time between full rebuilds if you change their oil once or twice a year.
