Peter Henke, a Scott Voltage team rider was heading to the states to compete for his first time in the states. For this upcoming wild adventure into America and the North West, Peter recruited myself(Seth Beckton), Max Mey and Shelby Smith for travel companions and content creators. While at the Colorado Freeride Fest in Winter Park, Peter Henke finished in 2nd place with his first ever competition double backflip. This earned him a big check and some funds to keep our trip rolling along nicely.
After Colorado we all hopped on a plane headed for Vancouver. We had a week to enjoy our surroundings and ride a few local trails in Vancouver. We met up with local and FMB commentator Ryan Meyer, who was awesome enough to show us around. While we enjoyed the night life and the flow of the jumps in Vancouver it was time to head North, towards a magical place called Whistler. Peter had an invitation to RedBull Joyride, the largest slopestyle contest of the year. During practice Peter had a very unfortunate crash off of the log house step down. From my perspective at the top of the hill Peters crash was gut wrenching. After meeting with the physical therapist, it was recommended that Peter did not ride in the competition unless he wanted to potentially injure his knee further.
