I actually couldn't tell if that was a guy with skinny arms and a retro 80's head-banging mullet in tight jeans or if it's some German girl that smokes 10 packs of those French/European cigs (y'know, like the one from Die Hard 2). But if she's got some calendar photos, I'll make my 5-digit judgement from that!

The guy gives a whole new meaning to "riding shotgun". Just hope he doesn't shoot his own ass off and leaving a mess behind while coming down the slopes.

The oval chainrings are mostly psychological than anything. Unless the cranks can dynamically lengthen and shorten, your legs are still rotating in a perfect circle since the bottom bracket is still a single axle with a dead center of rotation. I used to ride the Shimano BioPace chainrings and there is absolutely no difference in how I spin my legs on a bike whatsoever. So, for that matter, I'd like my chainrings as perfectly round as possible.

Symmetrical - good; un-symmetrical - bad; I'm guessing that if you fall, it'll be to the left side, right? Cannondale might as well build a bike without a chain if it's meant to be solely a downhill single speed bike. Why even bother with chain, chain tensioner, crank and single speed gear at all. Lose all that and you save at least 5lbs.

It's cheaper to get some tubes! If you can carry an extra 42.5g in your backpack and a 2L worth of water and whatever gear is necessary to fix you bike in the boonies, you can carry an extra 100g of tube. If an extra weight of the tube kills your back, you shouldn't be riding in the first place.

Some of you might as well bring the whole trailer along so you don't freeze when the day becomes dark!

I tried very hard to support my LBS, but I finally realized that the LBS within all of Alberta and anywhere in Canada are gouging us on prices for replacement parts. The only place in Canada that is reasonable and competitive in their prices is TBS Bike Parts from Kelowna. If I'm to support the LBS, these shops need to be more reasonable in their prices or go with a distributor that can give them the best commodity prices. If other online stores can provide prices that are 30% to 70% lower for the same product, there's something wrong with the pricing here locally. I can't fix my bike online, but I sure as hell can fix my bike and swap out parts (that I buy online) at home.
