Oct 20, 2019Rocky Mountain Flatline Meduim
$500 CADGot given this bike and it was in pretty rough shape but I fixed it up with new and spare parts for my wife as a all mountain bike. No, your eyes do not deceive you this is a downhill bike but my wife wanted a bike she could ride DH with. I however wanted to convince her that she was wrong and that what she REALLY wanted instead was an enduro/all mountain bike. Well my plan worked after a dozen rides she says to me “I’d really rather pedal up vs pushing up the hill....” I’m calling this a win! So here we are selling my wife’s all mountain bike that’s been overhauled and ridden only a handful of times since then.
Parts spec:
Frame: 2008 and Medium? Best I can tell as it certainly wasn’t stock when I got it and based on info I got from Rocky when I sent over some pictures. All new frame bearings and bushings from Rocky
Fork: Marzocchi Jr. T I didn’t do any servicing for this fork for 2 reasons: 1 budget and 2 it could easy become a rabbit hole given its age, also the crown clamp bolts are a bit suspect
Shock: Fox DHX 5.0 coil 450x2.80 steel coil. It came with a VAN but I had the DHX kicking around, so why not
Head set: its a 1.5” ID head tube but has reducers to a 1-1/8” I replaced the upper bearing and just repacked the lower
BB: Truvative GXP it was actually in decent shape so kept it
Bar: Chromag OSX yellow. It actually had an original RMB bar on it but now it doesn’t
Stem: RMB stem, nostalgic...
Brakes: Shimano BR 477? Not sure what level that suppose to be, not Deore but not Altus? Fun story it came with Hayes NINE brakes! They were shot and furthermore someone thought the bleed nipples were grease zerks... fun stuff
Grips: Blue bontrager lock on I know blue and yellow, it was my wife’s bike after all so she had the
Say on color scheme...
Front Shift: N/A
Front De: N/A
Rear Shift: Shimano Saint 9 spud
Rear De: Shimano SLX shadow 9 spd
Chain: 9 speed Shimano
Seat/seatpost: Diety seat post with shims and some white saddle
