Mount Prevost Enduro - Stevie Smith Fundraiser
Maybe it’s something in the water, the forest air or the roots below, but mountain bikers from Vancouver Island have made it pretty high up the podiums of the world. The highest achievement was from Stevie Smith. World Cup Champ in 2013, the segment of Seasons was played over and over with a young Steve and his mom Tiann running shuttles on Mt. Prevost near Duncan.
Scheduled since the spring, the Island Cup Series stops into the Duncan region for a few events, including last weekend’s Maple Mountain XC, and the upcoming Prevost Enduro on May 29th.
Race organizer Robin Dutton of Coal City and Cowichan Cycles, has happily offered proceeds from both events to go directly to the Stevie Smith Legacy Fund.
Registration is open now for the May 29th Enduro, which we hope to sell out at 140 racers and possibly locate more timing chips to open it up for more riders.

- Stage 1 Memphis
- Stage 2 Upper Mr. T & Bubonic Chronic
- Stage 3 Goldmember & Graceland
Total distance approx 26km
Race Start: 11am (we'll have a moment of silence for Stevie before departing)
Package Pick-up: 9:30am
Race Location: Mt. Prevost Parking lot, 1km up dirt road.
Registration: On-line only, click here - Limited to 140 racers
Cost: $50 per person ($25 for U19) Bring additional cash for raffle prizes.
Licenses: Cycling BC License required or pay $10 day of for a 1-day license. Minors will need a parent or guardian signature.
Waiver: We have a waiver for this race. Minors will need a parent or guardian signature.
The 2016 Vancouver Island Cup Mountain Bike Race Series, is BC's premiere grassroots race series spanning the length of Vancouver Island. Cross Country, Downhill, Enduro and Marathon disciplines are brought together from numerous local mountain bike clubs.
If you're a first timer, seasoned pro or just out to have some fun we would love to see you experience mountain bike racing on Vancouver Island.
Island Cup Races are sanctioned by Cycling BC.
