I hope there's a better shot of him cleaning it. I feel like that far away shot kinda detracts from how nutty that line is. Dude rips so hard. Hell if they kept just the riding shots, it'd be a sick regular edit. Some of those drops were biiig
That is just an amazing line choice, it drops so much vertical. If he would have pulled it off during Rampage maybe it would have made him just as popular as the crash did . The big mountain style riders that only come out for Rampage really got something different to offer. They may not come out with as many tricks but they make up for it with more natural big mountain gnar skill. Congratulations on overcoming that crash Dustin Schaad. You are the man! Thanks for the show.
ill agree but add more. the big mountain riders do not have something different to offer. they just represent MOUNTAIN biking in its truest form. everyone else is offering something different. everyone else is just representing another style of cycling interpreted through the 26+ inch wheeled bicycle. dont get your panties too tied up. DH, XC, and enduro racing are all mountain biking.
It's awesome to see when someone doesn't make a drop ,gap , jump , flip etc. know that it is possible within there ability , to go back and do it completely. It's when someone is out of there ability and tries again that worries me !!!
Yeah, that crash was scary to watch in person. I was near the landing of the canyon gap during his run, so we couldn't see anything except for the top ledge he fell off. A lot of the other riders who had already qualified dues to 2012 results were right there as well, and we all feared the worst (the fact that it took them a while to actually bring Dustin out of there fed that fear as well). Awesome he escaped with "just" an ankle injury.
