I started riding in those mountains in 1999 and got seriously into it after 2001. I got my first bike around 2003, that is 10 years ago. If someone told me back then, damn even in 2007 when I got my first FS bike, that there will be a bike park there at Wisla Stozek I would laugh at him big time... amazing. Huge thanks to Tomek Gagat, Arek Perin and many others for making it happen and putting blisters on their hands digging it. There's plenty of haters but they have no bloody clue, not a bozon of clue how lucky they are.
Cheers!
Thanks everybody ! I'll the send you the link, it will be this week but we had bad weather when we went in Palenica... Because of the rain we didn't had the time to film the best parts of Palenica like the DH track with all the great jumps and wall rides. We really enjoyed Maribor, Wisla, Spindleruv Mlyn and Spicak(our favorite)
Hi! It's really good to see our spots on pinkbike and read that you liked it. The vid is totally relaxed with pure fun and it shows Wisla very well. I'm wondering, do you guys remember me? We met in Palenica during this heavy rain on the top, just one ride down the black(dh) trail together, but it was fun to meet you and talk about you opinion Cheers!
No problem, it was an honour to ride with you Too bad, the weather didn't allow us to ride more that day. Anyway, I'm glad you liked our tracks and wish you all the best in 2014, hope to see more videos from you guys!
That is almost next door. 1 hour drive north. You drive north towards Tesky Tesin then after few kilometers aim right at Jablunkov (border crossing) then at Istebna (village), then in Istebna you turn left to Wisla, over the Kubalonka mountain pass, then almost at the bottomg of the valley there will be a sign to turn left to Wisla Stozek. a kilometer or two, and you are there. Not too many roads on the route, so won't be hard to find.
Then, you have to go around, take the train to Cesky Tesin and then to Goleszow in Poland. There you change for a train to Wisla Czarne. There is a train station not so far from the bike park, you'll have max 20 minutes of pedalling on DH bike.
It's easier than you think. You can catch an EC train from Warsaw Central to Katowice. It's about 2,5 hrs. Then you need to take a Koleje Slaskie direct train to Wisla (1,5 hr). It takes anothet 15 minutes of pedaling to get the uplift.
The KS trains are new and have places to store your bike during the travel, but it would be good idea to pack it into a bag for the EC train.
Great, thanks. week ago did small trip from Latvia to Warszava on a bus and then to Olsztyn on a train. Trains were OK and even better if You have a student card )
Yeah, it's pretty easy to travel using train, just need to study timetable and all times very closely, sometimes earlier train is going longer than others arriving later ;p sounds stupid but Poland it's true. So you've been in Olsztyn ? Nice place to ride, i'm living about 80km away Next time let me know if you want any help, cheers!
I'm wonder, which one, from resorts you visited during this tour, you enjoyed the most?
