A small note, we have about a 2 week lead time on these shirts. The printers are working day in and day out to get them done and in our hands, but we will update you once we know a precise shipping date.

As well, a note for everyone who pre-ordered Life Cycles. Any pre-orders that included the Life Cycles DVD are now enroute to their destinations! Blu-Ray discs should be arriving at the office within the second week of December, and we will ship them out at that time.

Thanks for all the support and Happy Holidays!

You guys @ Pinkbike are smart...Hold a contest for best t-shirt designs, give the winners donated prizes and then sell the best t-shirt designs for profit! well done
  • 4 0
Even better than that: sell NINE more designs from people who didn't even get prizes! Free designers! Everyone wins! (?)
  • 9 1
thats not cool the people who didnt win anything shouldnt have their designs sold.....bullshit

I believe it was in the contest rules or whatever. Something to the effect of, "if you submit an entry to this contest, you are giving pinkbike all legal rights to your work." If they didn't want the possibility of that happening, they should have read the rules closer.

But I think it's fair to say that pinkbike probably doesn't make a huge profit. Have you checked out the amount of visitors and material that is uploaded to this site? They must have some pretty hefty servers to pay for each month. So it's not like they are some big money hungry corporation that deserves to be hated on. Either buy a shirt that you like and help support your favorite biking site or try and be happy that they are trying to please a wider audience of customers.

The fact that there is more designs to pick from is a good thing, as a couple of the original designs were a bit questionable for the 15 and up age group.

Partially right, in contracts between an adult and an individual under 18, adults are bound but underage individual may escape contracts at their option. The purpose of this is to protect minors from foolishly entering into contracts with crafty adults who would take advantage of them in the marketplace. In cases where someone has made a profit from said contract, the court in these cases may order restitution, damages, and discharge the contract. Damages are typically awarded on scale, meaning that they will give rewards based on the market value. Market value for a shirt design is $2500, plus 10% royalties on sales.

So in cases where the individual is a minor and Pinkbike has sold or created t-shirts, they could be held liable. Liable to the same extent that they could be found liable for damages for use of an image in the case of the design by rawf85 that utilizes a picture, if that image of the old bikers is not licensed. This may also be true for any images that use an unlicensed font for text in their design.

Smart on their part.... but I wish the majority of them were worth buying
  • 8 0
 are you serious?
  • 12 0
Agreed. Two pass, the rest are kindergarten design.
  • 1 0
i guess the average user is younger than we thought, makes me wish i tried something, some of these are pretty simple minded
  • 7 1
Uhh, the coolest shirt is jane, but im a dude. they need it in mens...
  • 1 0
Are they ready to be shipped or they are still in the printing process. It shows in stock when buying them but also a line is saying that it could take 2 weeks to get them printed. Just wanted to make sure since they will probably be Christmas gift!

probably the worst T-shirt designs ever! Don't think the kids on here are down with Obey, Volcom, Rebel 8, Stussy, Alife and the like. Oh well, Pinkbike is Pinkbike! All hail!
  • 1 0
 ofcourse!
  • 1 1
Different people have different opinions on what they consider 'fashion'... Especially people who ride bikes. And imo, Stussy looking looks like shit. Obey and Volcom are not bad looking, especially for a skatebrand, but Stussy, meh.
  • 1 1
Biker wearing the skateboard clothing brands is gay. Thats all, have a nice day.

I am curious...was it just the first three winners that got prizes? I am curious to hear from the other nine "winners".

I would order a t-shirt but to be fair I ain't recieved my last order from Pink Bike from over 2 month ago now..........when will Life Cycles be here??
  • 1 0
Tell me about it, they didnt even do recorded post for my GoPro and it never turned up. Got my money back but epic fail on the recorded post bit.
  • 2 0
Mate, thats an utter shambles for you. Common sense would think they'd send something like that recorded... To be fair its not the fact that I haven't got my stuff yet...its more that no one has even bothered to let me know either by email or msg what is happening with it. Very poor customer service if you ask me. If they don't have the resources to provide basic customer service then no point selling items.
  • 1 0
jarb, you realise that life cycles was by way of pre-order? i got mine through today, so hopefully you'll get yours through soon.
but i agree, would be nice to have some communication with the pb team. kinda hard for them though due to so many users...
  • 1 0
Yeah I was well aware that it was a pre-order but it never materialised on the expected release date and the only way that I know what is going on is via pinkbike forums or chatter over the various bike websites I visit. My point being no actual direct response from the people who are selling the thing or taken my money, which I feel is the main let down. In my opinon it wouldn't take much to create a mail merge of the people who have paid for it and let them know about the progress of the order. Rant over......well. If you are from UK then hopefully I will get my copy soon also. Cheers

you've got a fair enough point there man. could have done with some more (just some??) info from pinkbike.
im in south wales at the mo, with no snow, so depending on what the weather is like near you it might vary a bit.
and its absolutely class. so you've got much to look forward to. Big Grin

Pinkbike put main page articles on the main page for all folks to read that bought directly or indirectly from them - thus benefiting everyone that pre-ordered from anywhere. Thousands of DVDs were pre-ordered (not through PB) and we help the LC crew with shipping, but it is actually been a very difficult process that has been out of everyone's hands. The regular DVDs shipped out last week and some the week before - folks live all over the world and shipping varies. Yes pre-orders are trying, but you are showing support and the funding goes directly to the film makers, not a microscopic portion like when purchased elsewhere - jsut requires more patience on the end user end. Thanks for the support.

cheers for the reply brule, definitely puts the scale of it in to perspective. thanks for getting everything sorted though. the film is amazing.
  • 1 0
Life Cycles is just now shipping? I've been reading on their facebook page and other forums that people are already receiving their copies in the mail...?
  • 1 0
The DVD has been shipping since last Friday. So all the pre-orders have been put in the mail and all new orders are shipped now!
  • 1 0
Oh ok thanks Karl. Still haven't received mine.... Just annoyed like everyone else Razz
  • 1 0
And I pre-ordered it. Not a new order.
  • 1 0
my homie said it was more of an art piece, he was NOT stoked on it, so you might not be missing as much as you think...
  • 1 0
I've seen two premiere's and this movie is amazing. It's well worth it and I want my damn copy already! The discussion on whether it's art or bike porn is dead. If you're not into artsy movies you might not appreciate this movie. There's a lot of talking, slow-mo and nature shots. It's not Disorder. It's something different. I loved it and will promote it. Even if my DVD is M.I.A.

putting the hen7 shirts graphics on the back would be better. dont really like graphics on the front of my shirts............but thats just my opinion.

Now my lady friend can rock my favorite web site
  • 3 1
If you want one of the shirt designs that didn't win so bad ask them for a copy of the design and have a local shop make you one. Or....have them put their design up on a site where you could order the shirt from (there are a TON of websites that do this). Complaining in the comments now isn't going to help you get one of those shirts you want so bad. Being smart and proactive about it however will. Sheesh.
  • 1 0
or for Tim Lakes design (what i posted above as a joke) use a white t-shirt and a paint brush tup thats what i did Smile

cool beans? how much are we talking?
  • 1 0
15-20 quid, so average price for tshirt, will be on decent qualtiy shirts too, that have a proper fit, not the cheap rectangles of cloth with a hole in the top Razz
  • 1 0
the shirts actually arent bad quality for the pricier ones, but yeah the max size is a 10" by 10" square, kinda stupid. gets the point across though.
  • 1 0
 fairplay. I want one.
  • 2 0
this is weird if you click on the photo it only has a few faves makes no sense i thought "We" vote on the winner
