the short cage works with 11-36 cassette and close range 2x10 (ie 22/32)
I have this setup on 2 other bikes and it works grrreat. gonna give shimano a try for the new build.

although they've buried it in their "all-mountain" lineup, specialized still offer a 7" bike with the Enduro Evo... but it makes me sad that Giant dropped the Faith

yeah but you could probably attribute the stiffness to STANCHION DIAMETER much more than travel.
everyone has been singing the praises of the Totem most likely because it's the only 40mm option
