Lots of riders talk about pushing the limits. Kenny Smith has no limits. Kenny proves that if you truly commit to a line with confidence, control and connection, a lot more is possible on a mountain bike than most will ever imagine. The truth is, he’s not afraid of anything, and he doesn’t have to prove it. To see the story behind the ride, visit TRUVATIV.com
Kenny's Prince George roots made for an easy transition (back in the day) to the easygoing Whistler lifestyle. Some things change, others don't.
He makes most trails look fast and fun, but the Ken is a true master of the big bike. Throwing shapes for the best of them, he's a photographer favorite.
We all seem to wonder if he hikes and explores more than rides. Kenny is a hunter and Hain is the game. Constantly searching... If you're lucky you can catch that wired look in his eye.
I've been sold on Kenny Smith ever since I saw his section in From the Inside Out. That rock face he rode down was unreal and so was that train gap! That whole segment was rad, one of my favorites from that movie for sure. Go Ken!
Fastjohn: so right dude, Kenny is a killing machine on he's bike. "What's next powers rock face"? That was scary steep. hope Smith has a great season this year!!
you are actually proving his argument....mike was NOT saying to ride near vertical rock faces on a hard tail, he was just saying dont be a spoiled and unskilled brat who rolls a dual crown fork over trails that resemble parking lots, get a dh bike when you really have the skills, or the balls to use it properly. kenny smith, chris kovarik, and aaron gwin are people who use dh bikes properly.
I think people just need to butt out of what people are riding in a certain trail. For all you know, their home trails are pretty mellow, but in the racing season they're racing national tracks that require bigger bikes. You can't expect everyone to buy a DH bike and an AM bikes just because they ride some mellow trails.
Hermit - Exactly what i was thinking while watching the video actually, one reason why I love videos of Kenny Smith is because he really does use a DH bike properly, ain't no messin about.
K smith has to rank in with the gnarliest riders ever, kovarik, bourdo, bender, doerfling, etc.. When he says something's too gnarly, that really means physically ****ing impossible lol
Damn, Kenny is an amazing rider. He rides such fast stuff and never gives up any speed, I'm not sure he needs a chain or gears, I feel like he's always outrunning his drive train. I don't think he needs brakes either, must be a sponsorship thing, haha!
Keepin the Hain rollin! Yeah Kenny! His line are even imaginable by the average person...yeah gunna build this line of a gnarly rock race and drop 30 feet NBD
I don't remember if he defined it in From The Inside Out. But, my guess is that a good definition would be that as the track gets gnarlier, he gets more aggressive.
