Video: Chaos Can't Be Beautiful

Behind the bars, there are a lot of things we miss. We submit to the trail ahead and the best kind of tunnel vision as everything outside this rugged autobahn becomes irrelevant. But what if we are missing something? There must be more to the turbulent charge of a bicycle than just flying earth and weightlessness. Where rider and bike play supporting roles in a bigger story of cause and effect.

Take a moment to witness beauty beyond the chaos.

So fresh! Such a clean perspective. If you kids could move past the "sram commercial" and "Slo mo" you might actually appreciate how amazing these shots are. The execution and capturing the exact action like this is incredibly difficult. Too many haters out there I guess.

agree... can't agree more. Not an easy job to develop this kind of shots. Props to the production crew.

and off course... Beer

I've noticed that mountain bikers always tend to stop and smell the flowers.. And by smell I mean inhale.. and by flowers I mean those green ones tightly wrapped into some burning rolling papers..
  • 10 2
It is certainly a theme among a lot of riders

Biking whilst stoned has never made sense to me. All concentration should be on the trail

its a nature-enhancer and a stoke-amplifier. I wouldn't advocate it for everyone but it's always worked well for me - helps me calm down going into bigger hits too, especially since mountain biking is a lot less about thinking and more about reacting and staying calm. i started toking the same time i started mountain biking so they go hand in hand for me. but to each their own.

Hmmm... maybe this is my answer to growing bigger ones. =P Thanks, man!

 Neat vid.

Tunnel vision really bothers me. I love riding, and I tell myself I get to see really pretty scenery, but looking back? Not really, too much focus.
  • 6 0
The lift back up to the top is where I take in the scenery
  • 14 1
Dude, if you are complaining that you don't get to see enough scenery while you bike just ride some rocky trails at low pressures with no spare tubes. It won't be long till you get a flat and you can walk down the whole trail and enjoy the scenery. It is best when you flat at the top because then it takes like an hour to walk down. I highly recommend it.

Can't see the action, someone left the camera zoomed in too far and slowed the Mo too much :-(

 Ever dated a stripper?

This is crazy good, it's short enough so that it doesn't get boring and some of those shots (the bee) are off the hook.

We always see the speed and chaos of biking on Pinkbike. They really did show the beauty of it! I liked the slow mo since it was needed to see the real "deep" stuff! It's not bad at all to that every once and a while!

I disagree - Chaos is beautiful. The forces of nature, life, symbiotic relationships between dirt, water, insects, plants, trees, animal species, man, and machine. Everything is always changing. I love to stop and watch no matter where I am, all of the forces are coming into play.

It's a nice intro, it will be good to see what they can do for the video.

This is the Boost 148 of videos. pointless.

Rider's MTB vision after an heavy beer ?
  • 4 2
How short would this video be without slowmo?

There was flex in the rear wheel.
  • 8 0
do you think that wheel needs a bigger boost?
  • 3 2
I'd say that I do stop to look around, but I cannot say how often and for how long because I'm affraid that Team Robot will say that I should kill myself Big Grin

I just stopped using Strava so I can smell the Loam on the trails again. Too fixated on times. It's like riding with no underwear! Ouch! Ahhh!!!!

That was SWEET. I wouldn't mind advertisements if they all were so well-made like this. Sram gets a 3 point from meow

Brandon Semenuk thinks chaos can be beautiful.
  • 1 0
is this referring to brandon semenuks new film chaos cause sram is sponsoring it
  • 2 1
 What are we missing here...
  • 5 2
And you didn't miss much. Great idea, poor execution. I found it lacking. They could have done so much more with the concept beyond just slow-mo and macro shots.
  • 2 1
Wow that felt really different, totally dug it.

 SRAM TLD RACING!
  • 11 1
 What are you yelling about?
  • 22 2
I THINK HE'S EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW PARTNERSHIP FORGED BETWEEN SRAM, TLD, AND THE VARIOUS BRANDS THAT COMPRISE THE SRAM TLD RACING TEAM, BUT EVEN MORESO HE'S EXCITED ABOUT A NEW MODEL IN SPONSORSHIP WHEREBY TEAM RIDERS CAN SELECT THE BIKE THEY WANT TO RIDE WITHOUT COMPROMISE ALLOWING THEM TO REPRESENT COMPANIES LIKE TLD FOR THE LONG HAUL THAT TRADITIONALLY PLAYED A SMALLER ROLE AND WOULD BE FORCED TO SHUFFLE IN AND OUT OF SPONSORED RIDERS CAREERS AT THE WHIMS OF THE SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES ASSEMBLED BY LARGER MANUFACTURER DRIVEN TEAMS, AND I THINK ALL OF THAT REPRESENTS A BIG INVESTMENT AND TO A CERTAIN DEGREE A BIG GAMBLE ON THE PART OF TLD SO WHEN SUCCESS STORIES AND GOOD PRESS COME IN FROM THE SRAM TLD RACING TEAM HE GETS PRETTY FIRED UP! That's just a guess though.

inferring all of that from someone hitting caps lock and using an exclamation point. reminds me of the closed captions for japanese tv shows

I read that whole paragraph like you were yelling and found it to be awesome.
