If/when Peaty retires from racing (hopefully many years from now), we should just put him in charge of World DH. It'd be along the lines of UCI but W.D.H. wouldn't be run by ass-hats and with Peaty at the helm as El Presidente, we could at least be safe in the knowledge that the sport would be looked after by people who care about it.
Wow. That Matti interview is some scary shit! Incredible that his face looks normal now, at least with a beard, considering how broken it got. And incredible that he was able to get back on a bike.
Matti was such a great personality to have on the circuit, sucks that he's gone. Still remember when he broke both wrists in Canberra and they interviewed him while sedated, whatta guy
Instead of retiring ( which hopefully will not be soon) , Santa Cruz should have Peaty create a veterans team. Grab CG and include Rennie, Matti, even someone like Palmer. I mean, what would you give to see Rob Warner compete in a race? Haha. It wouldn't matter where he placed, people would simply freak out. The goal would be to show up, have a ball and rip with zero pressure or expectations. I think people would eat it up. It's a shame that at a certain point you realize that there are all of these great riders that have just disappeared, and when someone like Matti pops up in a video you realize you'd forgotten that he wasnt actively racing any more. No better example than Rennie. One race he was there, then poof.....he was gone. Which sucks because he was one of my true faves to watch.
Matti has had the most gnarly, serious injuries of anybody on the World Cup. I would be petrified to ride again after so many prolonged hospital stays, broken back, neck, wrists and his near death in Sweden. Horrific. Props to you Matti! Please stay healthy.
Such a diverse track. Super smooth buffed berm sections and some of the roughest rock gardens on the wc circuit. I would love to see Peaty up there but I would also like to see Stevie and his mustache raising his bike above his head
It's such a great track , maybe the best on the circuit right now , but MSA is hard to beat for me , both tracks have a good slice of every thing thrown in.
MATTI!!!! Such a bonus to see him walking w/Peaty. That course looks like an absolute blast - enough variety to keep you honest, but still pretty much flat-out.
I kind of want to watch the xc race to see how they handle the double.
Course looks awesome big road gap, Cant belive how narly the rock gardens are, i have a feeling there may be a rims on ebay next week with some flat spots going cheap.
*gag
