January 17, 2008So the training has started for the race season. Been getting up at 5:30 in the morning for the last couple weeks, hitting the gym before work. Weight training and light cardio for now. I'll start some drop-in spin classes in the next week or two as well. Got a long way to go, but fortunately, there's also a bit of time before the season starts. Hoping to drop 30-40 lbs by June. Been guzzling green tea and taking Vitamin B suppliments to try to boost the weight loss too. We'll see how much that actually helps.
The plan is to race with the newly forming DH team in Edmonton. I think Syd (the founder and bike manager @ RVC) is calling the team DHR Racing. I'm totaly psyched. I don't know if I'll win anything, but I'm not too worried. I'll just be aiming at my own "personal best", and see where it takes me. Mostly looking forward to the comradery of a team environment, and meeting new people to bike with in the future.
