Snow Summit Bike Park to Open this Friday
I know, terrible right? chairlift served gravity trails in a so-cal bike park, in a cool mountain village, with a lake, lodging, food to create a quick getaway from the so-cal rat race. Sh1t on this enough and they will just close up shop and you will be stuck shuttling elsinore, bro.

Getting to Know Kyle Jameson
For an old school MTB jackass like me, KJ is a refreshing reminder that new school kids, are the same as MTBers that laid the foundation back in the 80's. New school is cool.

Troy Lee Designs Raid Knee Guards - Review
2 different pads, 2 different type of rider types. In a nutshell, TLD KG series are more of a light duty all day pedaler-our best seller mind you, as thats what most MTBers do-ride all day---compared to the bike park type of rider, who is slashing runs all day on a bigger bike, on more technical terrain.

Troy Lee Designs Raid Knee Guards - Review
You have "tried TLD pads" but, sounds like you haven't tried the RAID, you just came here to tell us about another brand you are a fan of? But haven't tried THIS TLD model?

Troy Lee Designs Raid Knee Guards - Review
Gwin, Fairclough, Shaw bros, Zink, Semenuk, L Peat, and more all tested and crashed on these all during development. The guys were all pleased with fit and durability, but more importantly, ability to stay in place in a crash.

Troy Lee Designs Raid Knee Guards - Review
Nothing like the 5400, and yes, we still offer the 5400. The simple lowdown is 5400 is a light duty pad and the RAID is full on bike park style pad. Thicker and larger knee cup pad (with D3O in the raid), side protection on the RAID and not on the 5400. Different chassis on RAID than 5400, I could go on, but they couldn't be more different.

40 Years of Number 55, Brian Lopes - Video
That was cool. As someone who was Brian's right hand man during 8 of his race seasons (95, 96, 97, 98 and 01, 02, 03, 04), it's always nice to stroll down memory lane. I've worked with professional cyclists for almost 30 years, on into today and I don't think i've experienced anyone as competitive as Lopes is/was-but to the point of not losing his shit IF he did lose. His dedication to the win, analysis of tracks and strategy was next level. Seeing those 4X photos really reminded me of how much Lopes always wanted to win races, but he had fun doing it and fun riding the tracks. Now, while he didn't always bring me meals like my wife Leigh did haha, Lopes was always very appreciative and thankful of the hard work that I put in to make sure he was ready to win and be prepared, despite the years of poking fun at him the internet has had. At the end of the day, his job was to win bike races, I don't think anyone did it better. It is a shame, that when he moved on to a new team in 99', his DH hopes and dreams were over, he is such a great DH rider, and could have achieved much more in DH, but, the team focus was to win 4X titles and so it went-but, USA did lose a chance to have another great american downhiller. It was the beginning of an era where the greats stopped racing both DH and Slalom/4X/2X and began focusing on one or the other, world cup venues getting split up and the beginning of real fragmentation of the sport. Only thing that pisses me off about him, is how fit he still is-thats why I look forward to getting an electric assist bike so I can go on some MTB missions with him, (I need a Levo).
