deeeight, your definitions are not wrong but gay was not used to say "happy" in this case, as it rarely is - instead it's used as the standard go-to phrase for internet comment section warriors to describe something they don't like. Surely you have to realise that associating a term, that is universally accepted as synonymous to a certain group of people, with certain traits is a problem as its reinforcing stereotypes and alienating those people? In my experience, trying to turn the discussion into a personal one is a sign of desperation. Maybe I have closeted issues, maybe I suck twenty dicks a day, what difference does it make to the matter we discuss?

That's not a stereotype though, it's the actual definition. The way you used the word "stereotype" in that sentence makes me think you don't really know what it means.

waki, you spend a lot of time explaining and justifying yourself for someone who doesn't care about what others think of you. Gay is synonymous with homosexuality. It has been and is still used in that way by people around the world (despite what youtube and pinkbike comment sections might tell you). As such it shouldn't be used as an insult, to reinforce stereotypes or otherwise. You wouldn't do it with a phrase associated with a race, for example (atleast I hope so). I have no idea what socialverket is or how it's supposed to have damaged me but I do know I've not been shaped by my environment any more (or less) than you have, so you should respect my opinions accordingly rather than trying to undermine them with phrases such as PC. It's equivalent to me screaming "FASCIST" as soon as the discussion doesn't suit my agenda anymore, i.e. cheap and desperate.

Then call it something else. Gay is a synonym for homosexuality and thus you reinforce the (negative) stereotype by using it the way you (and many others) do. As for the rest, I couldn't care less how you feel about other people having different priorities than you in life.

Good for you to find pleasure in reinforcing stereotypes, but in my opionion that is never a good thing whatever form it may take. Implying that caring about style is somehow related to homosexuality, in turn implying that homosexuality is something negative, is one of the most tiresome and hurtful of those stereotypes. It's also quite ironic how you seem obsessed with not being obsessed with style and trends. I assume you deliberately and desperately avoid brands with those associations? lol.

Wow, are people seriously still using "gay" as some kind of insult? Middle school goes on forever, it seems.
