Sierra Club

In Marin County, possibly the birthplace of the mountain bike, mountain bikes are not welcome. I enjoy riding the butter smooth singletrack of Marin, and I feel totally justified in doing so. Its Ironic that single is illegal on so many levels, here I look at just one level. It is extremely ironic that the political climate means that real mountain bikers have an empty set of trails to poach.I have done three rides in four days, and although my legs are a bit sore, I can't wait to get out there tonight. Recovery is rapid at sea level. I have hit early morning sessions, late night night rides, and I have yet to see one single person!!

Thats right, a town that is LOUSY with road bikers, I have yet to see a single hiker or biker on singletrack on the mountain. Last night, I saw FOUR night hikers on fireroad (one on gravity car, and more supprisingly, three at the waterfall on railroad below westpoint. ZERO on singletrack. I think that the Sierra Culb (Satan Club?) wants to keep Tam like an untouched piece of China, only to be taken out twice a year during geriatic events. The mountain is empty again, like the late 80's and early 90's. The sierra club has done hard core trail riders a service: We will continue to responsibly enjoy our singletrack, we will be carefull not to lock up (this isn't Keystone!), we will have many epic safety meetings, and we will do so on an empty mountain. Thanks to the Sierra Club! We have found a way to turn your negative attitudes into something good.

Long rest the Sleeping Lady!
