Finally the dh season is here. All the work that I have done in the off season with BOND training can finally be put to the test against other riders who have been working just as hard. Last weekend I got my first taste of racing at Race the Ranch in Kamloops, the first BC Cup of the season. In my race run, I ended up not riding the top section and carnage corner as fast as I had been in practice and made an error their that caused me a few precious seconds. I made sure to really give it my all after that and was completely roached when I reached the bottom. I was happy when I crossed the line since I had been anticipating this race all winter and I finally have a taste of what DH racing is like. I crossed the line with a time of 2:25 which put me into 33rd out of 44. I was disappointed when found this result the next morning because I knew that I should have at least been top 15 and that I didn't race to my full potential. All in all it was a great weekend and I can't wait to build off that coming into the Sunshine Coaster this weekend. I will be out for redemption!
