I don't know if it's the contrast in the picture or what, but Brett Rheeder's ride is the best thing I've seen in awhile...
  • 43 4
Just need that new orange fox spring to tip it over the edge Wink
  • 90 11
 Knolly on the other hand..............
  • 10 0
 Where is Tyler Bereman??
  • 61 43
Agreed I dont say a bike is ugly to much but those knolly's are UGLY!!!!!
  • 23 2
I like Semanuk's even better. Swap out the Fork decal and BAM. Gotta say, not usually a Trek fan but these are some sassy looking bikes.
  • 6 0
 Shits getting UNREAL!!!$
  • 11 0
The C3 athletes sure go through a LOT of bikes during the season... Are they trying to test new tech, or do they really wear out the frames that quickly?
  • 5 1
idk thats a pretty sexy bike arik swans got
  • 3 0
Agreed....his shot and ride are both sick
  • 9 0
Kdstones: they aren't wearing out the bikes. My guess it that since they ride for a huge brand like trek, they get a lot of cool new frames. Or could just be new paint on the old frames who knows.
  • 41 2
dh bikes just look soooo bitchen with 26 inch wheels. fact. so moto. so rad. so right.
  • 16 0
Sad that ariks bike is probably equally priced
  • 2 0
#NeedsmoreBereman Get that guy a DH bike!
  • 3 0
 haha look at bretts shoes
  • 1 0
 a few more vids:https://instagram.com/tylerbereman/
  • 3 0
zink on a tues CF 26?? andreu on an old frame AL?

this is called innovation!!!
  • 7 0
Andreu's bike looks HUGE for him and Logan Peat's almost looks like a BMX on him.
  • 1 0
does YT make a 26 tues anymore?
  • 1 0
 yup they sure do
  • 1 0
maybe not in the US? I can't find it on their website
  • 198 3
The least expensive bike there has a motor
  • 33 0

  • 13 2
The least expensive bike has a YT logo on it Smile
  • 146 9
No 27.5+ bikes? What is this amateur hour?
  • 18 5
Jeff Herb's Phoenix is 650B, but not +!
  • 159 1
 maybe thats why hes injured
  • 48 2
no kickstands?!? or reflectors and bottle holders?!! at least stay hydrated in mid-air
  • 66 6
everybody except bike companys know that 26" is whats up

flag GeorgeBikla (Apr 24, 2015 at 16:12) (Below Threshold)
what about the two transition 500? both are 27.5
  • 15 1
 You can ride 26 on a 500.
  • 27 2
No matter how fast 27.5 for 29 is, 26 will always be the most nimble and most fun to whip around around!
  • 7 10
The YTs are 650b... Look at their site.... Scott's should be as well.....
  • 7 6
If you're just descending, 26's are fastest. "As per bike radar's test that will never be replicated because of the industry"
  • 5 0
@krashDH85 Bas's Transition is 650b. So is Kyle Straits Commencal.
  • 11 2
The YT's are all on 26" even zink's. Come on... please tell YT they need to keep a 26" version
  • 3 10
flag Snowdog85 (Apr 24, 2015 at 22:32) (Below Threshold)
the new Carbon YT on zink is 27,5
  • 8 8
When u see your mates with 275 crash more often than usual u know 26 isn't a bad thing after all
  • 18 0
If you checked you would notice that zink's is a custom 26 version of the carbon with custom rear end
  • 3 4
would be hard to belive that they make a new expencive mold for making just 1 custom 26`` rearend for zink?
  • 2 1
well, your right about the wheels, they are 26, but not sure about rearend
  • 19 0
 It's a custom version for Zink, it's a 26 inch.

www.mtb-mag.com/en/fest-bike-check-cam-zinks-prototype-yt-tues
  • 6 1
WTF are you talking about! Arik Swan is rocking a 25+ sized front wheel and a 23+rear!
  • 3 0
of course they produce a custom dropout 26 for zink.. yt will sell enough bikes in the usa to defray costs
  • 4 1
Of course these guys are riding 26" there's no advantage to bigger wheels when riding smooth jumps...
  • 1 0
flats 24, clips 1, they will get swapped out right..
  • 71 0
Nice to see Semenuk and some of the other slope guys coming out to play this year, and a couple tr500s! (I'm biased, I have one). Gilding's paint job is sweet!
  • 3 0
 DIY paintjobs FTW!
  • 61 1
Guess I need a Chromag saddle then...
  • 13 5
 And SR Suntour Rux.
  • 8 1
 XO cranks too.
  • 1 5
flag cuban-b (Apr 26, 2015 at 8:58) (Below Threshold)
What's that all about? Makes me not want a chromag saddle and xo cranks
  • 35 0
at least half the riders of last year's Rampage at a Fest Series event? Shits about to get real
  • 5 6
 RIP FMB?
  • 37 3
they better change the name to DJMB
  • 4 1
 +1 Frilko
  • 1 1
I honestly think changing the name to that would help.
  • 29 1
They better watch out, being in Santa Cruz and all...bikes tend to disappear up there
  • 9 2
Shady bro, my friend got his bike jacked at knife point by some tweakers! Be safe boys lock them bikes up!!
  • 30 0
So many tweakers. I just chased down and busted a tweaker yesterday for breaking in my truck, dude was trying to get his knife. Took him down to the ground!! Lady cop came and man handled the dude! She was pissed! . 2nd tweaker I handed into the cops in 3 months, and 4th break in attempt, another dude busted my window and took my school stuff while I was trail building. . Here's vid of Cam busting a dude in Aptos for stealing a bike. Watch 'yo stuff when in santa cruz!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSyI4J-7Hcs
  • 8 0
Well, keeping things locked up won't help if you get robbed at knifepoint. Sad as it is to say, your bike is a material thing that can be replaced.
  • 1 0
 agreed.

 Concealed handgun... Fuck the liberals
  • 8 2
It's not always that easy to replace a $6000 bike if you only make $9/hour. Happened to me when I was younger. And almost 4 years to replace it.
  • 16 0
I realize that, but it's also not easy to replace your life.
  • 6 12
flag brassinne (Apr 25, 2015 at 7:32) (Below Threshold)
Of course not. But for some mountain bikes are our lives. When that's all you have, everything else may seem irrelevant.
  • 6 0
Wow! CaM is a much nicer guy than me. I would have knocked that dudes teeth through the back of his fucking head! then zip tied his hands together and called the cops while I took a piss on him. I might have even bitch slapped his girlfriend for opening her mouth. Bike thieves get NO LOVE from this rider
  • 22 6
I always liked the Session; the simple, clean four bar setup looked so nice alongside other manufacturers increasingly complex and unattractive linkage. The Norco Aurum was an even prettier incarnation of the same basic system and the Operator similar but slightly less attractive.
Not a big fan of the new one though, seems to have lost some of old good looks (too bulky, blame the carbon) same for the new Aurum, they just blend in nowadays. Oh well, at least the looks will never be a problem for me as I will never be able to afford either.
  • 6 4
I feel exactly the same way! I think my alu Aurum is among the most beautiful frames ever made, carbon bikes nowadays are a downgrade in terms of looks
  • 3 0
The alloy treks are more bulky than the carbon ones
  • 1 3
It's not a four bar as far as I can see.
  • 19 2
interesting, not many running chain guides or bash guards..
  • 5 3
I am glad I am not the only one who noticed that! I would at minimum run a chain guide! Ik there mostly coasting but I am not the person to risk that!
  • 12 0
I feel like that's because A) clutch derailleurs help with that a wee bit and B ) since it's a jump comp it's single impacts not lots of little chatter like at a wc round
  • 1 3
chain guides = Downhill Smile no chain guides mean you are "fey" Smile
  • 3 1
SRAM/Shimano would have persuaded them not to run a chain guide so that it acts as a massive piece of advertisement for them and their chain retention abilities. If they were all not sponsored I would put money on it that 99% of them would be running a chain guide in the rare chance that it does come off.
  • 2 1
Sure everyone has knocked the chain off a NW ring but I would imagine that XXDH stuff holds the chain on a lot better than the standard XX1. The chain is a lot shorter bounces around less and the chain rings are a lot bigger with more bite. Im pretty sure neko was running just an upper guide at the last WC.
  • 14 0
Where is Tom van at these days?
  • 15 3
I love how they got R-Dog's TREK right off the set of "Smokey and The Bandit III"
  • 23 12
Just can't get behind those Knolly's. They look bonkers. They seem to get an excellent reputation but they look...ugly as sin. Bring on the flaming. :-/
  • 11 6
That's the thing with looks, it's personal perception and opinion. You think they're ugly, I think they're cool. No flaming from me.
  • 8 1
I like that industrial linkage, no flaming from me
  • 8 0
It's clear you guys are both flamers
  • 2 1
Haha Yeah they look super dated. But who cares when you're on em. So long as they feel right at speed
  • 3 2
Very true. I've seen some pics where they look half decent if you squint a little... its a shallow point of view I know. The talent on the bike however, freaking amazing there. This event has been amazing to follow so far.
  • 14 2
Is Arik Swan's bike the new plus size with boost? Looks burly!
  • 2 0
I had to go back and look...
  • 1 0
arik swan aka tingeltangel bob ... awesome hair
  • 10 1
It's my first time a see V10 participated in a freeride event.
Btw, is it just me or Andreu's bike is bigger than him or he is too small for his bike?
  • 2 1
jamie goldman used to run a single crown V10 at rampage!
  • 2 0
@TroubleZone13 i think its the perspective, he's tilting his bike out, and a v10 at a freeride event, pretty unusual.
  • 3 1
And why he still use his old Tues while Zink use the carbon?
  • 11 3
Lacondegay's front rim says "bikes and bitches"
  • 16 4
 lacondegay? hahaha lacondeguy man
  • 15 0

All the bikes are so sick looking!!! There's to many nice ones to choose a favourite lol
  • 11 5
Don't tell me the Knolly looks good. That thing might as well be a 1999 norco vps-1
  • 5 1
Semenuk!!! damn, looks line this year Andreu will not be the only one throwing tricks on the biggest jumps
  • 5 3
Im very curious about that Smile I still think Andreu rides bigger stuff with more style.
  • 1 0
for those of you wondering why a couple of them are using AL bikes or lower end models, watch the video. Its fest Series, so these bikes take quite the beating. Aluminum frames take hard falls better as they are less rigid and dont crack like carbon does. They dont want to give them top end custom bikes to ghost ride off a 40+ ft gaps... and all the riders are good enough to deal with the bikes theyre on.
  • 4 0
Now we just need a FEST-clunker check!

  • 2 0
 jordie lunn: YT Tues AL
  • 2 0
 Jordie rides Yt Tues
  • 9 0
Is it easier to front flip using clips?
  • 3 0
Good point, didn't think about that!
  • 5 1
well, the frontflippy brother is Tom VanSteezbergen (the one riding for Trek). So I doubt is because of frontflips that bas is riding clipless
  • 3 0
One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong...
  • 3 0
Hm makes me wonder why Curtis still ride the 26 Alu Demo instead of the new Demo or new Enduro Evo.
  • 2 0
not to start a flame war (or even disrespect sems or sems fans but) or anything, but doesnt semenuk kinda have a zoolander male model thing going on here?
  • 10 6
 FEST, F*CK THE REST
  • 7 2
Sounds great an' all but that is quite the FMB/ slope line up going on alongside the "proper" FEST guys. Good they can all play nicely and lets hope that no-one takes it too seriously Wink

How come Peat is rocking an Enve front wheel and alu rear? I thought Enve never break?
  • 2 0
It's front and rear, just no stickers on the back.
  • 2 1
Loving the sticker on Nick Pescetto's chainstay... 'Get steeze or die tryin'
  • 1 0
Think the pictures are taken looking back down a hill, so the proportions look a bit off?
  • 2 0
So R-Dog is running for the German team? Nice...
  • 1 0
Quick question. Ive been wondering recently why do all freeriders now have no chain guides?
  • 1 0
Nico Vink is such a boss, not only because he's Belgian but damn his rides like a crazy guy! Big Grin

Probably because it is a more DH oriented bike and the one he has is better for jumping. Or perhaps it is wheelsize...
