The North Face rider Mike Hopkins and friend Matt Miles set out in August 2012 on an expedition to explore first descents in the Bendor Range of Bralorne, British Columbia. This is the story of their journey…
Matty did amazing .. That was his first big mountain experience and i know he was pumped to go back and slay some bigger lines now that he has a trip in the bag!..
Awesome job guys! How many times have you heard people say that first decent riding in the big mountains is the most fun they've had on a bike? Anyone who loves freeriding needs to try it at least once, nothing else compares.
There was just a big fire in the mountains behind my house, I went out with my friend and hiked to the top, then since all the foliage was gone we just went down the side of this bare black mountain, it was sick. hahah I would love to do more freeriding like that
riding scree is something every shredder should do at some point in their lives. It's like skiing powder, your tires are drifting but you are in full control. It is nothing like locking up your front wheel in a loose blown out death chunder chute at the bike park.
It's a strange situation , here mike-hopkins.com/sponsors you don't see " Monster " mentionned BUT one the top of the page there is a Monster logo , and on the bottom of the page there is a link to the Monster website ...
Hes not on the Monster Roster anymore, not contest-oriented enough for Monster's focus is what I was told. The page graphics havn't been updated yet I guess.
I figured as much. I think Life Cycles got him on Monster but ultimately they want contest riders. Mike shreds nevertheless and deserves great sponsors like The North Face. Sick vid and I look forward to more!
if you think where the trail ends was better than this you clearly have yet to make it outta grade school, where the trail ends was the most over hyped action sports movie to ever be released, the best part of that movie was when the screen finally went black and the sound cut out. At that point and that point only something awesome had happened
Anyway still a fun edit.
Still better than Where the trail ends tho , this is the whole of that movie condensed to 7 mins ( all thats needed I guess)
