The European Enduro Series 2015 is over. Almost! There is one new spot, another set of adventurous trails and four final stages to rock and of course, there is the season’s best male and female enduro biker to be crowned. On October 17 and 18 the series returns to the ocean and finishes in Benalmádena, 12 kilometers west of the city of Málaga, Spain.

The European Enduro Series has had it all – the Dolomites, the glaciers and cross-border races. But now it continues in another scenic landscape, the mountains of Benalmádena. With a view of the city of Málaga and the ocean, the riders start into the season finale. The trails around Benalmádena are well known for their quality and are a real enduro mecca since international top-riders like Gee Atherton, Danny Hart or Josh Bryceland used to train and ride there. Brands as Santa Cruz, GT Bicycles or Giant have been putting their products down to the acid test on these trails and this might be the best indicator that the EES 2015 season finale is going to be a hell of a show.

The venue for the final stop is not just easy to reach by plane from e.g. Germany or England – cheap flights and only 12km away from the airport including a shuttle service to the venue – the race starts right at the Tivoli World at Benalmádena Costa with the gondola. In total 29.5 km and 4 stages are waiting for the riders to come. Altogether, the trails around Calamorro mountain will be a combination of all natural trails in the woods and sandy and rocky soil. Including panoramic views of the city of Málaga and, on serene days, the coastline of Morocco seems to be only a stone´s throw away.

A great place to finish a season full of extraordinary races, beautiful landscapes and uncompromising enduro shredding. Since the whole series was a huge success, the expectations are high that this will end in a final showdown. As we have a look at the overall ranking of the series, nothing is home and dry by now, although Markus Reiser from Germany travels to Spain with a 75 points lead. If Michal Prokop still wants to turn around the standings in his favor, the Czech needs a faultless race and ‘serial winner’ Reiser a lot of bad luck. Both, Reiser and Prokop have already registered for Málaga and will fight until the end to stand on top of the podium on October 18. Close, closer, Women Elite Class! At least five women still have chances to win. Since the previous race in Paganella/Molveno, Swiss rider Monika Büchi is in the lead by 10 points ahead of three ladies on a joint second position: Raphaela Richter (GER), Anneke Beerten (NED), and Lisa Policzka (GER). A tough battle for the overall win is guaranteed! But the European elite of enduro bikers is definitely amped up about shredding those beautiful trails around Calamorro mountain in Benalmádena and will ride at their highest level to finish the season with a bang. So stay tuned, for who will really be at the very top of the podium in the end.
