UR Team to Ride BOS Suspension in 2014

Jan 23, 2014 at 10:59
by UR Team
First of all UR Team would like to thank Fox Racing Shox for the support and all the people that helped us at Fox along the way.

Indeed, after months of testing, UR Team can announce that the whole team (Downhill, Enduro and Slopestyle) will be riding BOS Suspensions for the following race season. This was a big decision for UR team, but this decision has been driven by the team's goal for performance.

With BOS we know we have the best package with product performance and team support. We have never seen BOS and Olivier Bossard so eager to win more races and we know we have the full support from everyone in the company. UR team is proud also to play an important role in the development of their products and is really appreciative to work with such top of the range, innovative and technical suspensions.

Boxer ready to fight

Mick Hannah is a fighter. After having been so close to his goal in 2013, he is on a mission to knock down the clock and BOS Suspension is these new weapons.

"The last 2 years have shown huge growth for myself and the UR Team as a whole. Our goals combined with the products, goals and dedication that BOS are offering us, I'm confident we will be taking it to the next level and beyond."

Olivier Bossard has this to say:
"Fabien and his team were part of the first MTB team to race BOS Suspension. Today we wish to reinforce our presence at the highest MTBing racing level and so this partnership comes as a natural step to take in this direction. The UR Team is one of the key players on the World Cup circuit. We really trust the work that will be achieved by these very talented riders may it be in Downhill, Enduro or Slopestyle. All this will help us push our boundries and take our products to the limit."

Fabien Cousinié team owner:
"I'm really glad to see the team is back working with BOS. Our paths separated a few year ago but it was to make a better and stronger come back in 2014. BOS and UR Team are neighbours in the South West of France, so it's going to make all the development processes much faster: Keep your eyes open! We've already got some surprises on the way!"

Sad that services that BOS provide for europe sucks ass apart from not answering on emails for months and sending faulty components back still faulty ...
  • 7 0
Tell me about it... Just serviced a 1 week old RaRe Air fork that came with a faulty o-ring causing it to lose travel.

Looks like even Mick has been giving secondhand gear haha only joking but for a press release you'd think they would have him holding brand spanking new equipment.
  • 1 3
He probably didn't go all the way from Australia to France just to have the picture taken, so I guess he took the picture at home after a test ride

See the work JOKING in my post ;-)

Bos service is a disgrace and to be honest they deserve to lose business over how bad it is. Even their own service centre in Ireland says they cannot get in contact with them for weeks at a time.
  • 3 0
wouldn't touch them with a barge pole

Ha I love French people, madly passionate about what they do but utterly unaware of the outside world.

 Every season is good!

reputation and service is toss. fix your service and support firstly in Europe outside of France then into North America, and you might have an outside chance of consideration. so far off the radar, BOS is utterly irrelevant right now so much competition in a very tight market where reliability is key FAIL

...having bos suspension (fork+damper) on both enduro and dh bike i can say i have never tried anything better so far, however, as mentioned earlier, their customer service is the worst in the world and without some french connections i would be probably waiting for my fork for years ...ignorance and mess ...shame for such a great product range ...mr. bossard should probably address these issues first

Mick is looking lean and mean for 2014.

Fantastic. I wait for posts regarding BOS products so I can air my experience. Great products that come with the most unbelievably appalling and downright terrible after sales customer service. In the UK, do not expect to be able to get parts or a proper service from uk distributer Surf Sales. They put my shock back together wrong, so I had to send to unofficial service by JTech suspension who did a fantastic job but not with official parts. BOS themselves do not care about their customers. They will not reply to your questions. Even though the only reason you are trying to contact them is because you can't get what you need via their service partners. They will not even reply to your BOS distributer, so don't expect them to reply to you. The only people who seem to be bothered about my plight are UK magazine Dirt, who i complained to because they keep putting BOS products in the Dirt 100 with total disregard to after sales service. Be warned, don't say I didn't tell you.

Lol hope they don't need seal kits in a hurry, I love Bos suspension but the Uk doesn't have a distributor .
  • 1 2
If you have to change the main dust wiper/seals, you can always put the Fox 34/36 ones from SKF. They fit and they work pretty well Smile

But if you have to change the ones from the air side or in the damper ...

Surf Sales distribute BOS in the UK.
  • 1 0
You could always send it to Novyparts. He's got the knowledge and tools to deal with BOS suspensions (he worked for them in the past Smile ), only drawback is you still have to send it to France.
  • 1 0
Aye Cranxwork has it right. But a friend of mine works for Surf Sales. They can't get the parts.... Anything.
  • 1 0
 Surf sales have dropped Bos
  • 2 0
Its not the uk distribution that's the problem its getting the parts from Bos .I would like to know what Jungle products are going to do different
  • 1 0
Well send them to Novyparts then ... he can get the parts from BOS
  • 2 0
3 uk distributors in as many years , if Bos want to be taken seriously in the uk they need to pull the finger out. I shold not have to send my forks to France for a service .
  • 1 0
 And who can blame them!
  • 1 0
Prestige MTB is handling US/North America BOS distribution, and supposedly, warranty repairs/tech. I hope warranty service and turn around times will be better. I have been riding a Deville on my Bronson C and it's pretty awesome. Best I've ridden.
  • 1 0
Negative. The North American distributor/service center is 702 out of Las Vegas, NV.
  • 1 0
Can't get parts in UK so don't see why you think you will be able to! Amazing dampers. The worst after sales service you will EVER come across.
  • 1 0
bos make some of the best dampers in the world,,,, all my bikes have bos forks on them,,,, defo agree though about the negative comments on service or lack of... oliieB really needs to get his finger out and sort this out, as its a very important thing for all of us as riders.
i know surfsales ended there agreement with bos arround 2 weeks ago, claiming theyre a nightmare to deal with, and somthing to do with bos wanting them to sell more products this year,,, i know they are the same reasons r53 parted ways to, unable to get parts / supplies, and ridiculous demands on there renewal contract,,,, i wasnt aware of jungle taking over, thanks for sharing that... just wish id known this last week, as i just sent my deville to madelk in dublin for a service...
good luck with this new sponsership deal UR,,, hope it goes well for you, and hope they dont leave you suspensionless midway through the season,,,
  • 1 0
Yep, no matter how good your parts are if you're impossible to deal with no one will want to go there, a good working fork is better than a broken one waiting to get fixed.

 Dear BOS users,
If you have any questions regarding service for our products, please direct them to me at: sav@bosmtb.com or call +33(0)534 25 33 66 and ask for the S.A.V. Department.
Best,
Ilan

Hopefully this should put bos back on the up for customer service and make them realise what they need to achieve there goals
  • 1 0
 But it is so expensive
  • 4 2
Least hopefully the'll be able to get hold of someone when they go wrong I guess!!
  • 1 0
I love it they make it out as if fox wasn't good enough for them meanwhile fox has proven time and time again they are the best suspension on the market
  • 1 0
I would have been happier to see them go with dvo or xfusion all I can say is we will see how good this bos suspension does in 2014
  • 2 1
So pleased for polygon! My favourite team so far. Now they have bos suspension, its an internet dream team.

I wonder if Reynolds will be riding Bos suspension? For enduro probably, but what about Slopestyle?
  • 2 0
Hi I was thinking the same, but on his facebook he is not on Rockshox any more so I would suggest so.

There has been a few lowered Devilles that were sold to sponsored riders or to people close to BOS. Lower one, keep the TRC on, pump up the compression setting and you'll have a pretty good DJ/Slopestyle fork Smile
  • 3 0
They said they already had "some surprises" so why not suspension for Slopestyle?
  • 2 0
that would be an incredible build; prototype slope frame, bos suspension, and some choice DMR parts!
  • 2 0
Here's a question, SRAM have a big tent at all the major events, and I have never seen one for BOS or any of UR's other sponsors so where do these riders go unless its crankworks or something like that when clearly UR will be there to support them?
  • 2 0
Usually BOS don't get their own stand, but crash in the team's stand
  • 1 0
sorry I clearly didn't make myself clear, but the slope style events are in different places and probably UR can only be in one place at the one time so what do they do when that is the case?
  • 1 0
Oh, right. I guess the team will expand, add some new mechanics and buy some more tents (they still have one in the buy/sell from 2012).
It'd would surprise me if they got an extra truck, but why not buy a small van or something.
  • 1 0
ahh yer good point I didn't think about that thanks, yer it would be worth it as they have 2 riders doing slope style and it can only help their results! best Sam Reynolds edit ever www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hJIi83Wj5c
  • 2 0
They probably still have the old vans they were using before. The main truck will go to the main events, and the riders will probably have a van with a mechanic for the smaller events (an example is at the Megavalanche, Dan Atherton didn't come with the massive GT truck, but a van, a mechanic and maybe some other people/friends of GT/One industries)
  • 1 1
BOS couldn't give a toss about their own customers so don't see why they should bother sponsoring a team!
  • 1 0
@olstar, a personal grudge against what is arguably one of the Top suspension brands in the world,
or is their some proof/story ?
  • 2 0
@Kustomango - 100% proof and story. Read my post somewhere above. You can't get them serviced at the moment in the UK and BOS themselves do not answer your emails. Both R53 who used to be UK's official distributer / service centre ended their contract because apparently BOS were a nightmare to deal with. Now Surf Sales have just ended their contract apparently due to the same reasons. They did not know how to service my shock properly and actually damaged it, eventually the good guys at J-tech did it for me (they are not an official partner therefor cannot get official parts however they did a really good job). I have written my experience above. I own BOS Idylls and Stoy shock so I know what I'm talking about. Yes they are unbelievably good products, but what use is that when you can't get parts or a service. To make matters worse they won't even tell you what oil to put in so you can't even do an oil change yourself. If they put the same effort into their network for parts and customer service as they do into the actual product, then no doubt they could be the best in the world. But until then...

or is the bos holding the boss?
  • 2 0
the boss is holding the Boses like a boss Wink
  • 2 0
I hope this will start paving the way on having BOS Suspension in Asia.
  • 1 1
Poor guys. Im happy to be back on and fox fork After my bos spent more time in service then on track.

 Good idea

Sad that services that BOS provide for europe sucks ass apart from not answering on emails for months and sending faulty components back still faulty ....
  • 3 2
ye, europe BOS service is such bullshit, I was willing to buy a fork from them, but their web site was so shitty that even I had changed to english language version, there were still tons of "alien words", I couldn`t even select the color because I had no f*cking idea what the fk did those "alien words" mean. So I sent an email to their support, and ye,shitty poor ass support never reply my mail, so fk u BOS,I went for FOX and I`m fking happy now. ../.. bos eu

Get "Decharme Bikes" sort you out pal in Shanghai, great blokes....
  • 3 1
WOW!!!!! Alot of good info here. I don't ride BOS (expensive) but I have always thought maybe I could if the prices in the US came down. My idea of BOS was that they are the Cream of the crop. That's until I read this article. I think it's safe to say that this PR attempt is an epic backfire.
  • 1 1
Same story here. Hope BOS read all the negative comments and sort out their after sales issues before they do anything else!
