Part of the team made its way to Monterey for the 23rd Sea Otter Classic at the Laguna Seca race track in Northern California, and their presence did definitively not go un-noticed!The Dual Slalom course was the best it has ever been and the tight berms and rollers made it a real challenge to race hard on it. This didn't worry the team as Mick Qualified 1st with Fabien not far back in 7th. In the finals, Mick came 5th after being beaten by Steve Peat in quarter finals. Fabien came in 10th.
Holly chose not to race the Dual as she prefered to keep her energy for the Downhill. That paid off as she got an amazing 5th place, only 5 seconds off the winner Jill Kintner! She was up on the elite podium with 4 world champions, so she was really stoked with that because she is still 17 and in the Junior category.
The boys also had some incredible runs with Fabien getting 16th in front of quite a lot of the top ranked world cup racers. Mick had an insane run beating the tough time Cameron Cole had set. And it wasn't until Aaron Gwin came through the finish line that his time was beaten. The thinest of margins separated both racers with less than 0.01 seconds! The top five riders were all within the same second!
The whole team is really happy with all the racing and would like to thank all their sponsors, but most specifically Hutchinson for allowing them to use their booth as a chill area and for the mecanics. But also The Hive / E-Thirteen for their precious help at Petaluma. Thanks a lot!
Next up for the team is the AvalancheCup of Lyon for Fabien and Guillaume. Holly and Fabien will head to the BDS race in Fort William and then the team camp will be in the South of France at the end of May.
Keep up with the team news on our
