What most people know about the Downhill World Cup circuit is all about the riders. Their performance, their victories, their crashes, their injuries, etc. What we don't know is behind all great mtb athletes hides a group of passionate people working hard towards one goal. Photographers, camera crews, team managers, mechanics and event organizers are all linked by the same passion for the sport.

How we travel from one country to another with our bikes and equipment is always a bit of a mystery for people and we wanted to show you what really goes on. Having four riders racing the full World Cup circuit means a lot of equipment and even more bikes on events like Crankworx for us.

By air land and sea the World Cup circus made the lng haul from Fort William to Leogang.

The circuit goes on for about six months and life on the road can be rough. During those months there are not many breaks and your team and the whole circuit becomes your family, with the highs and lows, but at end race day comes and everyone remembers why they are here.

Our sport mixes passion with professionalism and has a wild and fun spirit. With the high expectations that come with professional sports, we are very lucky to have a united community that sticks to its values.

man mtbing rules. Dh rules, and what really takes it over the top for me are people like cous gous and the whole UR team that put so much work into WC racing. And of course providing boat loads of awesome videos and content. And I cant help but feel that WC dh is at a pretty cool place in terms of popularity. I mean is its popular enough to facilitate all the cool things that DH fans love. ( cool teams, amazing bikes and tech, lots of great content, live streaming etc. ). But its not so big that you have all the shittyness that you have with other sports. Supercross comes to mind as a good example of a sport thats similar to dh but massively different in personality. And im definitely hopeful the sport continues to grow and expand but im also stoked on where its at. And huge props to the UR team for doing what they do and hooking us up with a great video.

Really amazing all the hardwork that goes into a downhill team. Even in the offseason its amazing how much training and product testing they do.

Thanks UR for sharing this experience. There is so much going on before a race, my first impression is the logistics behind it all and also the costs involved: tickets, luggage, rental cars/vans, hotels, food, equipment... how do you get the mothership overseas to other continents? All these events must cost serious amounts of cash, plus salaries, keeping a team alive is a challenge, congratulations to all the UR Polygon riders and their team owner/manager for such an amazing team!

Hey UR, how about giving away a pass to join you guys for a race next season as a helper/extra staff, I´m in!

Smile
