25 Base Mountain Bike campers had the privilege of experiencing an authentic video shoot by the well known video production company Virtu Media. Producers Matt and Eric showed up ready to ride with massive camera bags, and bombed down from section to section for a whole 3 days.
Participating in an all inclusive 5 days, 4 nights bike camp; the teens aged between 9 and 17 had the chance to ride with Pro riders Evan Blackwell, Dustin Gilding, Tom Van Steenbergen and Bas Van Steenbergen on the beautifully crafted Silver Star network of trails. Focusing on progression and smart choices, the campers improved their skills all week long while being fed delicious home cooked meals by a private chef.
Based right on the mountain at the SameSun Hostel, the campers were getting first and last chair lift every day. Not wanting to miss a second of shred, the riders also rode all evening on Wednesday for the extended play Silver Star offers. On that evening, Virtu actually had set up few cameras on "Pro Star" and gathered sweet footage from the session. Camper Sterling Connop-Scollard said: "
It was such a unique experience to witness all the effort that goes into a real video shoot".
Base Mountain Bike Camps has now been running at Silver Star for 4 years, and welcomes riders from anywhere in Canada and the world. Various packages are available based on whether campers need transportation, accommodation or lift passes.
