The only thing stopping me is what the hell am I gonna do in the winter???

tman- you've gotta be kidding me.....

Anyways, there needs to be more of these. Maybe the numbers of people who care about trail building on this site aren't much, guessing by the lack of views compared to say someone ripping around in a bike park, but this is the essence of riding. Without trail builders, there would be no mtbing. But I guess some attention is better than none Wink

Well done! That trail looks like a hell of a time and I cannot wait to get a chainsaw in a couple of weeks!

Tman- you've got a few years to figure out a hobby to do during the winter... I hope you're intelligent enough to figure it out by then. If not, I suggest you go to college in the U.S., preferably Utah, Montana or if you're worried about the mystery of snow, Californeyeehh

Your so right ive been trail building for years and the number of riders who don't dig is getting bigger

Worst is seeing the lot near empty on trail days and then the very same lot PACKED full of riders a day later. It's ten times worse in the winter with our lovely wet weather. We've certainly got places that people dig, but they're the bigger trail hubs that that people know well, so the smaller trails struggle some years depending on who's riding them. On the flip side, I sometimes really enjoy a nice day to myself or with one other buddy just hiking in the woods and working on the trails. Sometimes too many cooks ruin a meal Wink I'm sometimes torn as to weather "other" people should maintain features once a person has built them. I've seen good and bad come of it esp. back int he old days when wood stunts were really kinda "signature". These days it's a little less intricate other then smart ecological building (drainage and low impact building yadda yadda) so it's less of an issue. I have seen some trail get "worked on" by people with pulaski's that really needed tine rakes to just buff them. It's a double edged sword sometimes. Best thing is people picking up garbage on the ride through. THAT really helps trail's and keeping trail open since people LOVE to claim "only Mtn. bikers litter" Wink

In some ways i'm glad not many people build , at least then the people that do build actually know what they are doing !

I love videos that expose the builders and get people to remember that people actually build the trails that they take for granted!
  • 3 0
Thats why the latest Anthill was really sweet. The last scene where they go through all the trails and the associated builders is awesome. Then Semenuk rips the shit out of that trailSmile

I appreciate music selection. Paul Dianno at the helm of the juggernaut that is Iron Maiden just gets me all nostalgic. Nice build as well!

Agreed! Up the Irons! Sabbath shirt is a huge plus as well! Sick riding and building as well. Excellent.

Question for the builder: Why do some of your gaps have backside ramps for rolling them when others do not. obviously you built the trail for advanced riding so why the extra work on some features?
  • 1 0
Some gaps are harder to make than Others on this trail... It's easier to build alternate lines than making a ride around in some cases.
  • 1 0
What a feeling of pride he must get having built that line and getting to shred it daily. Respect to him. It's a shame the majority of riders just want to shred post it on YouTube or pb and never pick up a shovel.

Keep up the great work Jeff! Guys like you are what keep this sport real, and keep trails running. I hope this video will inspire a new generation of trail builders. - Keith, Banshee Bikes
