All the Silver Star bros are at it again, tearing the trails apart and creating chaos. Spencer Graf, Noah Brousseau, Garrett Robertson, Casey Groves, and Harrison Mendel hit up the bike park!
The park is pretty sick, the berms are killer but some of the jumps especially on world cup are horrid, and even other trials. Like a huge jump followed by a tiny jump which you land to flat. Double dog was my most favorite trial by far
Everyone great job! I must admitt that when Groves did the "3" it caught me so off guard that while at work I blurted out an "Oh Yeah!" Startled some people.
Loved the quad no hander to finish it, pretty badass video. Not a fan of the start, but that really wasn't an important part. I'd love to ride up there!
I think most people might say whistler is better... It definitely has a lot more trails.
However there are a lot of people who prefer silver star because it's never busy, so the trails are always in great shape, and the vibe is way more chill.
Living in Vancouver, I ride whistler more often. I do however LOVE Silverstar. Everyone is crazy friendly. There's WAY less bravado. And the trails are always running smooth. One thing I like about silver star over whistler is that there are far less junctions, so once you start a trail, doing top to bottom laps feels more natural.
Silverstar's jump trails are amazing... But I'd say that Whistler has the flow of jump trails a little bit more dialed. For example, at silver star I feel that some jumps you have to adjust speed as you go down. Whereas on A-Line and Dirt Merchant... If you just open it up... Each jump progresses nicely as you go down the trail without the need to brake check.
If you're planning to travel to canada.. I would try to give yourself the time to hit up both Whistler and Silverstar; I promise you won't be disappointed with either.
I much prefer silverstar over whistler. But that's just me. Trails are always in good shape and it's way more friendly at silverstar. Not to mention there is almost never a line up for the lift. And unless your going up the garbonzo chair at whistler, I think the silverstar runs are a bit longer
Also if your down for tighter almost dirt jumping on a downhill bike style of riding with lots of transfers and sharp booters, silver has a great trail for that and then to mix it up there's also another great jump run with some wicked drops and step ups that are nice and floaty to really throw out the whips on and the best part is, If you get bored of jumps, you walk up to the lift because on any given day it's a walk up and if it isn't its 5 mins at the very very max (usually around bc cup time) and you head up and hit some of the wicked tech runs from full on rock on Dags and downtown to steep and rooty on gnar. Nothing really to complain about, just a rad mountain in every aspect
Lalena knows what shes talkin about. Silverstars jump trails (rockstar, jedi, pipe dream, prostar, walk the line) are alright but alot of the jumps you gotta brake check for. Double dog is really where its at, fast flowy tech and a few hits/wallride features
Silverstar has more options that are closer together. There's also a cross mountain trail too that actually lets you hit the second half of pretty much every trail. Something you also don't get at Whistler.
Not saying someone copied the other, just heard the song and thought I heard it before.
Love your work as always mattdennison and virtumedia this makes me want to go to Silverstar!
Envy and Hardcore should never be used in the same sentence, it's setting yourself up for mediocre. Sorry but I was drunk, SS is pretty rad I used to ride park.
I must admitt that when Groves did the "3" it caught me so off guard that while at work I blurted out an "Oh Yeah!"
Startled some people.
the scenery in silverstar videos is always epic
