WB+ Now Live in the Bike Park

How many conversations have you had with your buddies where the topic of the 'most' has come up? Most vertical, most days, most rad? As riders we are constantly in pursuit of more trails and more laps but how do we satisfy this insatiable drive? Well, one way is already built right into your Bike Park pass. Starting now, WB+ is now available for Bike Park riders and by signing up you have access to all of your Bike Park stats from this season AND last at your fingertips.

All Bike Park passes come with RFID technology, which is a small chip in your pass that records your scans each time you load a lift and sends information to the WB+ app on your phone and desktop. RFID scanners are located at the bottom of each lift working to record each lap as you scan through.

Your pass to a sleepless summer just gave you another reason to stay awake at night.

Leaderboards
See how you stack up against all Bike Park riders in number of days riding and streaks of consecutive days.

Charts
Take a look at the details of your riding: view your top ridden lifts and even break your vertical down by month

 Leaderboards *and* badges. Wow, what a great idea.
I must be getting old as I still find the actual riding of bicycles to be kind of like the entire point of, you know, riding bikes. All this weekend warrior tracking b.s. is just a distraction.

 Too bad they don't make a beer drinking app! You know like where, when, how many, how fast, was she ugly, lager vs ale stats, import vs domestic....
  • 2 1
 @justincs: lol was she ugly?
  • 1 1
 @Scotty7447: If you have to ask.......it should come with a *what she looks like when your sober* feature.

 @justincs: untapped = beer app

 i know what you mean, but you can do cool things with these kinda of apps. my local mountain did a low-key race using strava, best run of the day kind of thing. it was cool, but yeah, badges are pretty dumb.

 Bike Park Pro already does this and better. It tracks your whole ride, showing what trails you rode, top speed and lots of other data. Best part, it automatically skips the lift rides so you only track your descents. It's available on iOS and android.

 Does it work in airplane mode? Most phones barely last a whole day without continuously recording GPS locations.

 @lazarescu: People listening to music or tracking runs on their phone is a really bad idea imo. If you or your buddy crash badly and you're out of battery from being on Strava, you're f*cked when it comes to phoning someone for help

 @mnorris122: Yeah, I get that. You can use a Garmin and export to Strava no probs but I doubt this app will allow a GPX upload. So it seems like it's phones only here. Hopefully because users of this app are in bike parks specifically, not having a phone wont matter. And besides, there are plenty of people in places like Whistler who are visiting and don't have a phone that works, or don't like to ride with their phones for fear of breaking them.

 @lazarescu: iphone doesnt run GPS in airplane mode. android does though. bike park pro is pretty cool, however if you want to ride an unmapped area, they make you walk the trails a few times to get the GPS points just right. who wants to walk a bike trail?
  • 1 0
 @lyophilization: The bike parks have already provided that detailed Gps data so that app users can get an accurate report of all the trails they rode. It definitely isn't meant for use outside a bike park.

 I'm really hoping they implement the ability to download GPX files or share to Strava. I'd like to be able to keep my park rides with my other rides in one place, as well as share them with my Strava friends.

 I don't know if airplane mode disables location services. I have had it running for about 5 hours nonstop on an iPhone 6+ and I still had over 70% battery. I have used Strava and My Tracks before and they both seemed to drain battery more than Bike Park Pro.

 Wow! Never knew, Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, NY has more Vert than Whistler. 2400' maybe even more.
  • 8 0
 Fitz Chair (1125 vertical ft) + Garbo Chair (2156 vertical ft) = 3281 vertical ft. If you want to include Top of the World, that's over 5000 vertical feet of descending. Pretty sure there's nowhere else in North American that offers that much vertical.
  • 4 1
 @adrock-whistler: oh, i get it. thanx
  • 1 1
 @adrock-whistler: From the Summit chair of Whiteface it is 3500 vert, but no biking from there yet.

 @justincs: How many places in the US have more than 2400'? Are there lots of places in BC with more than 2400' (for Biking)? I'm just asking. BTW, I have snowboarded all over the US and still don't find many Resorts with over 3500' vert. (I do know a few) Not to bad for the east coast IMO.
