Review: Intend Infinity Dual-Crown USD Fork
No arch on moto conventional forks, this is all placebo anyway. Most flex happens at the crown, and an inverted design flexes less dispute to larger tubes and more clamping surface. Geometry changes less as the inverted forks don’t flex as much fore and aft. The steering precision is why the moto world switched to inverted. Roger Decoster kept conventional alive, and the size of the tubes needed to get the same steering precision as inverted resulted in excess friction in the massive seals and bushings, so even he has to switch his team. The real reason is inverted designs are more expensive, as tolerances are tighter. It’s cheaper to keep selling conventional designs, and therefore, more profit,

Confirmed: Cannondale's New Downhill Bike Has 2 Shocks
@gabriel-mission9: I don’t see the point. This was never pursued in moto as far as I know. I grew up during the suspension revolution in the early 80’s. They played with everything back then.

Confirmed: Cannondale's New Downhill Bike Has 2 Shocks
It can be done in the same package with position sensitive damping. Husqvarna did it in 1983 in dirt bikes, using a twin shock design. It worked brilliantly but it was a couple years too late, as the rest of the world went with linkage driven single shocks a year or two earlier. KTM revived the design in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. It worked great everywhere, except in the extreme world of supercross.

Suspension, Anti-Lock Brakes, and a Dropper Post Cable Kit - Taipei Cycle Show 2019
@WAKIdesigns: coming from an off-road motorcycle history, where we had disc front, drum rear brakes, I’d go through 2 or even three sets of fronts for every rear set. I usethe rear to create slight drag to keep the rear in line,

Chromag Announces Doctahawk, a Super Aggressive 180mm, 29er Hardtail
This bike will work for the right rider in a bike park. For a regular trail bike? It’ll climb like a pig. A skilled rider could compensate, but put that same rider on a normal bike using the same skills. This looks like a basement troll’s idea of the perfect modern geometry.

Chromag Announces Doctahawk, a Super Aggressive 180mm, 29er Hardtail
Sold my morphine 8 years ago. I wish I kept it. I had a DC on it, but the bb height was shit. It worked with 140mm up front though.

Good Month / Bad Month: Nerds, Single Crown Forks, Interbike, & More - December 2018
Inverted forks were developed to prevent this amount of deflection. Basic science. Larger tubes are stiffer. Larger tubes at the crown are stiffer than smaller tubes, as that is where the majority of force is located. Some folks think the amount of traction a 2x3” strip of rubber on dirt can overload a fork’s rigidity, while thinking this deflection messing with your geometry isn’t a big deal. Strange.

Nicolai's Electronically Shifted Gearbox Enduro Bike - Interbike 2018
All the negative shit about companies that sell e-bikes. Hmmm..... I remember people refusing to buy from companies that used 27.5” wheels a few years ago. A couple companies even tried to make 26” bikes for these guys, but no one bought them. Vote with your wallet, my ass.

Syntace C33i Straight Carbon Wheelset - Review
@Veloscente: i find CX-Rays the strongest spokes I’ve used. I use pillar bladed spokes as second option if budget is a concern. I don’t like pillar nipples, but there are a ton of other options to use.

Syntace C33i Straight Carbon Wheelset - Review
As a hobbyist who has built a couple hundred sets of wheels over the years, those look well designed. I’m not at all concerned with 28h as most carbon wheels I’ve built were 28h. I’m a Clyde too, at 275lbs. 32 and 36h are from the days of cheap single wall rims and even modern aluminum rims like spank are good at 28h.
