The charity, Friends of the Steam Coast Trail successfully bid for over £600K from the Coastal Communities Fund to start work on a stretch that will ultimately see the creation of a new 36km trail for walkers and cyclists between Minehead and Watchet. As a new tourist attraction, The Steam Coast Trail will create around 140 jobs and bring £7.2 million to the local economy.
In partnership with the Friends of the Steam Coast Trail, we require a Project Officer to lead the promotion of the trail to visitors, residents and businesses and work with partners to successfully deliver the first stage of the route.
The role requires the skills of creativity, diplomacy, and the ability to manage a variety of deadlines.
