9 Thoughts on Red Bull Rampage 2023
Would Pink bike stop sucking up to red bull and the riders? You guys are so sad. If we are all confused then clearly the terms of the competition aren't defined very well. Do you think these guys are risking their lives and spending their time and resources (I know the get 10K but whatever) doing runs that can't win?
Can someone please start a go fund me for 4th and 8th? It is time for the people to just go around these fools and corporations. At this point it is pretty hard to believe this inst' intentional weighting towards people with shared economic interest. You have managed to turn something amazing into figure skating. Congrats Pink bike and Red bull well done.
Again this isn't about taking away from other riders or builders.

Bike Check: The BREWser, a 184mm Travel, Crazy-Slack Experimental Gearbox Bike
I have real questions about the gates drive arrangement. I guess if you are mostly going down hill but as a bigger rider they just don't work. To keep enough tension on them and prevent them from slipping you had to put a lot of tension against parts of the drive train that just don't need it. Especially in high watt situations. Maybe if you are just spinning up and not having to power out climbs but this seems like a real flaw here. Also you can totally beat that belt drive weight with a single speed chain setup. Makes no sense. Otherwise pretty cool setup.

Fox DPX2 Performance Elite
$350 USDThis shock came off a 2018 Transition Sentinnel. Transition had it serviced by Fox and fully checked out. Hasn't been ridden since. I figured I would offer it up here in case anyone is in need. Pictures can be post by request but it look mint I simply found a good deal on an X2 setup for the bike. This shock is lighter and has more progression. Though I would imagine most of you looking already know.
Rear Shock Size: 205mm x 57.5mm
Shock Hardware: Trunion Mount Top / 25mm x 8mm Bottom
It had relatively low hours when it went in (~30). Was rebuilt as a warranty service for a noise that Transition deemed worth fixing. Picked up the X2 while waiting for it to return. Lost a bit of that pop that this shock had.

ZEE crank 120mm
$125 USDI have a set of Shimano Zee cranks cut and drilled down around 120mm for my daughter. Includes a shimano mt bb. Hard to find cranks for kids bikes.
Comes with a narrow wide wolftooth 32 chain ring.
