I think it was a cool vid, with some cool riding, and for all the no helmet comments....... get bent. Its not that its not cool to wear a helmet atall, but posting comments about no helmet is really NOT COOL, I wear a lid but obviously you all wear your pants to tight and need to get off the comments and on yer bike!

COME ON Pinbike... We've got this no helmet no POD rule, yet a video where half of the riding is done without a helmet on has just been made VOD!!
Although the music was a bit crappy, the riding and editing want bad at all. Nice to see progress in someone. However the whole no helmet no vod rules seems to of been ditched!

I'm not a pro...I made a deal with my local NS Bikes dealer for a sponsorship just about a month ago...I'm waiting for him to receive new 2010 parts so I can build a new bike.

Oh c'mon. You're making a big deal out of nothing. In this particular case, he doesn't have a helmet when he's doing some easier tricks that were actually filmed in a non-serious way. See that he's wearing a helmet (and shins/knee pads) when he's riding contests or doing dangerous tricks...
And yes, I do agree that PB should have this no helmet rule. It's the biggest bike portal on the net, so I guess it's good to promote some safety, but it is impossible not to have some exceptions from time to time.

"but it is impossible not to have some exceptions from time to time." it's really quite easy, you just don't select them to be VOD/PODs not really that hard at all. If there going to have to rules then don't break them, but then pick people up on other rules. A bit pointless that way.
I am chill. But can I point out that just because he is doing easier tricks doesn't mean he can't crash badly which is why he should wear a helmet all the time. And if he is being "filmed in a non-serious way" then surely he is just as prone to crashing then as he would not be concentrating fully...
And yes they don't have to have expectations all the time, but they can just as easily make another video VOD, such as this, where they are wearing helmets and it also just happens to be 100 x better than this.

2) It is logical that people will wear a helmet when riding DH/FR. It's way more unpredictable than riding a skatepark. Your comparison is void. Plus, you're saying that a video that showcased another discipline in another country is better than my own? Ok, but you do have to realize that the scene is much bigger in Australia (not to mention that the continent is also pretty big, especially in comparison with our little country/region). You can't even think of comparing the two. You should re-learn what it means to have fun on a bike. We had a lot of fun while filming this (road trips are very very fun).
3) You guys are reacting as if this was a whole video that was filmed without a helmet. Let the rider decide whether he wants a helmet for that trick or not. Live and let live.
4) Apparently Pinkbike breaks this rule from time to time if they like the video or photo. I see nothing wrong with that. I mean, after all, if you're not wearing a helmet while riding it's your own fault and you won't be able to sue Pinkbike because they put 1 video out of 500 in which the rider didn't have a helmet in some of the scenes.

i dig nearly every day Jr... and if that is all they have to ride, then it is up to THEM to do something about it
...and we're doing so. Two dirt contests in a row in our hometown organized by us bikers (5 bikers), VODs and front page articles on Pinkbike, movies from our scene (whether it is BMX or MTB it mkes NO DIFFRENCE), photos that are highly commented/faved, appearances in local zines, 1000+ km road trips per year and so forth.

Unfortunately, we couldn't film better ones because of the weather and our student lives. There will be some better whips in the next video.

I agree - its a little sloppy. He's still a good rider but mabye some more high energy music and moving, closer shots would have made it a little better
