 heres a little background to what actually happened. mike garrigan, who won last year was first to come in on his first lap for the xc portion. but the people running the event didn't radio up to tell his team mate (brown) to come down. eventually he realizes that something is wrong so he just goes, the two of them work their ass off to catch back up. and they do. they pass gagne and stevie to go on for the win. BUT because the race is organized by french people they accused mike of being down one lap and gave the prize money to a sponsored rider that doesnt need the money.

its shame we have to live with such ignorance.

 did that happen at this event? if it did, its pretty unlucky for the other guys that should have one! red bull wanted to give the prizes to the red bull rider i suppose.

 That did happen, however Mike never did catch back up and pass Gagna. I believe he caught back up to 5th place! Definitely a sweet event to watch though!

 no trust me he did catch back up and passed gagne. but gagne's coach told him that he was a lap down (which he wasnt) so he didnt bother to chase mike.

 It is so unfortunate that the organizers can't accept the fact that they were wrong. Gagné should at least give the goods to Garrigan. What could he do with them? He can't ride a rock shox fork anyway...

 I didn't know Mike passed Gange back! Thats pretty low of them to accuse mike of being down a lap though..

Off topic: I got to the pause button too late at the end of the video. I was SO happy not to hear "4, 3, 2, 1, Prom is almost here..." I know PB has to pay the bills but I really hate that commercial!

 Dude i was BBQing with Raphael Gagne on the weekend at a resort i was staying at for Ontario cup DH, he was there for Canada cup XC. not following XC as much as i should: i see this video and say

"whoa that's they guy who i was BBQing with, he just raced with Stevie.. cool beans"

 I LOVE the idea so awesome, i think it's one of the only ways to get every rider together, i dont wanna kill the event, but i really think they should have EVERY SINGLE type of bike relay race... for bmx they would have to boost real high and pass of the relay thing to a DH guy, he races down the face give it to the XC guy for the climb on the other side then he passes it off to the road biker who will go all the way down the the other decent and pass it to a trials rider who has to get to a gnar cake spot...hahahhaha over kill but i would FOR SURES watch that shit ANYDAY!

 such a sick idea.. It cool to blend the XC guys and the DH guys into one event where they can compete and realize the strengths that the other has.. I am pretty such stevie would get his ass kicked if he tried to hang with gagne on a XC. and I am sure that gagne would dies if he tried to ride the DH course like stevie.. defiantly cool to see them incorporate to different aspects into a event..

 Remember a few years ago when Red Bull ran a downhill race in a salt min in Germany a couple thousand feet underground? It just never stops for those guys, biking is lucky to have them involved.

 they run xc, and when the xc rider is done, they radio to the dh riders at the top who leave as soon as their partner is finished the xc course, and then its a race to win.

 actually kevex you're wrong. XC racers use Red Bull shots for energy boosts during races and 24h enduros.

 I knew that was at Tremblant! What's stupid is that Tremblant is only open for events like this and not usually for every day riding, which sucks because that course looks wicked!

 I hear Some guys from Ontario actually won this race. Got snuffed out of the results and didn't even get a pat on the back. Garrigan and Brown. sick video for sure.

 sorry just read the post above. guess I'm not the only one to have noticed this. I read Garrigan has a Computer file proving he did as many laps as the "winner" and did it faster (hes the XC guy obviously, ha). bummer for sure.
