Recut for your viewing pleasure...
Music: Bonkers (Doorly mix) by Dizzee Rascal, refined by me.
Thanks to Stance Films and all the sponsors! I've really enjoyed putting this cut together, and I hope you do to! Good luck to everyone recutting out there!
Hey out of all the recuts iv seen since the contest started, this one has to be my favourite ! sick editing and music fits so well
nice vid man
Cheers guys! But seriously, it's the taking part that counts...completely honestly, this is the 1st comp I've ever entered to recut stuff (check my profile!), and same as a sweet hill...once you're editing, you just get a flow on
That was awesome. Love the tune too. The way the action is brought out of the fuzz/blur focuses you on the dirt being ripped up, and there wasn't an overuse of one fancy editing trick. Loved how the persepctive was messed about, I think from the hyper-colour of the beautiful scenery, kinda Tim Burtonesque, so that the cyclist appeared tiny in what first looked like a close up of smaller rocks. Great work!
haha no worries, just wasnt sure if it was that exact version or if you had re worked it to make it fit the footage, anyway i agree with every one sick edit.
only bit thats a bit tacky is the 2 screen tailwhip shot, would of been fine if it wasnt for the blurring stuff at the bottom/top of the shots. imo
top 3 ive watched for sure

For sure your skills are way beyond. You should consider using less FXs with such great footage, it doesn't need it imho.
Anyway this is great work. Congrats dude !
ps: sorry for my frenchglish

I only used the FX to emphasise the slo-mos and the music and seeing as this is a trailer...I felt it kinda needed the extra pump, otherwise everyone's videos would look the same! Totally agree that the footage is mint on its own though...can't wait to see the film!
You're right, after all it's a teaser, it must be fancy.
One terrible miss in your edit in the Graham segment near to 00:57 when switching from the "close-up" to the next scene: it needs some color adjustment. Those with an eye for the finer details will notice it.
Relaaaaaax, I'm kidding
As said before your edit just rocks. I'm impatient to see the film too.

mate, if you're not a professional dj or videographer then something is very wrong with the world. best recut i've seen so far! mine's nothing on this, but thanks for the comment lol
good luck!
Cheers Dave! You used a sweet track in your recut, and seriously I rate it! Music was just the right balance between angry and chilled...and as we all know, the track you choose makes or breaks a video! Catch you at the Bull soon!
No kidding! This was just unreal. Like you said, I entered anyway because it was such a blast to work on, but this is one of my favorites by far. AWESOME. If you haven't considered doing this on the side professionally, you should!
This is my absolute favorite recut of the contest, you have inspired me to enter (even though i'll be no were near as good)
I SAY :vod:
Great stuff Oli. I guess thats you in all the shots and therefore you knew exactly how to cut it together! And if it's not you in the shots, I'm sure you can do all that fancy stuff too. Good work mate.
do you make a lot of "dubstep" music (it sounds like it!)
by the way. best vid of the contest by far. awesome! got my fave!

Cheers bud! The track is actually a white label dubstep mix of Bonkers which I recut/mixed to get the best 2 mins out of it. Thanks for the fave...you de man >>>

if your Doorly then fair play sick mix!

Yep, that's the one...I only had it as a white label, so I couldn't give any remix credit. I did do a LOT of work recutting it myself though! Cheers for fining it/pointing out...speil above updated
