It Works.
This was it's first time running in over a year. Quick explanation: The starter motor runs on regular gas, and the actual motor runs on diesel. This thing is wicked haahhaha.

We were too LOL. My dad is a has been a technician for heavy equipment since long before either of us were born, he knows what's up. Him and I will get this thing running awesome, she just needs some TLC.

1950's technology LOL. My dad used to turn wrenches on it until the owner died. His son is giving it to us for free to get it the hell off his lawn. Thankfully my dad has hookups for a float to get it to my place.

ya lmfao, that thing must have dug itself a hole in the lawn over the past 20 years lol still not that bad of a machine, does she move?

It didn't sink too much actually. It moves, but only forwards and backwards (the steering system needs oil, no biggie), but the hydraulics for the blade work great. We drove it to make sure it works, just only in a straight line for now. That's all we need to get it on a float though.

really? well i hope it works out man, and my dad says he actually does recall working on ONE of these, a cat D-7? dad says they had a beast of a 2 cylinder

It's an International (before they were Case International). It's a "6" model and it's a 4 cylinder.

Yeah, they do. Thanks man. Keep an eye out for pics this summer. We wanna sand her down and paint her orange. My dad is gonna give the engine a once over and clean the jets and all that fun stuff. Then we have to do a wee bit of welding to fix up the blade guard and brace a small crack in the blade arm. Then shit will be dialed and it's only job will be to build jumps and amuse me.

ZOMG, dozer stunts!!!! Genius.
Edit: My dad said "If you break it and it's not something cheap/feasible to fix, we're leaving it where it dies."

It may, but my dad used to be a hydraulics technician for Hitachi and owns his own business servicing heavy machinery now, so he can still get parts.

ya thats for sure lol, just gotta get the horn B.S. worked out, hopefully you can find one for it :/

Worst comes to worst I will just get a boating air horn for it LOLOLOLOLOL. The dozer is loud enough that a horn would be pointless. If you don't hear or feel it coming, you deserve to be trampled.

Just learning to operate it is going to be tricky. Nothing is labelled and my dad is the only living person that has previously operated it. Hahahahaha.

Quite frankly, I would be lost without him. It is quite confusing, but he showed me what most of it does and made sure I understood how to use it. It will take some getting used to though, I won't just be able to hop in and build jumps. I will end up spending a small fortune on diesel this summer.
