Troy is an amazing rider, but I think for us all to understand his speed and ability a lot better (mostly for people that don't know him eg. non-MTB'ers) I think this video would've benefitted from less slow-motion.
Just got a little bit over the top after a while, there was more slow motion than normal motion in that video.
Some of the shots were very under-exposed aswell.
Besides that, great edit. Obviously you were trying to achieve a certain feel to the movie, a mellow and chilled edit, and it was pulled off nicely.

@DownhillDomination: really couldn't agree with you more, it was an all-round amazing edit but to much slow mo, didnt show his speed enough.
But were you looking for speed in a movie that wasn't meant to show it?
I think it wasn't mean to show the speed, more the style and the smoothness of Troy on the bike. Maybe I'm getting it wrong!

When you have such a fast, capable rider, why not showcase that.

Ty, no offense, but if you could actually use propper slow motion in your videos i think you'd use a fair bit aswell, i get your point, but clearly i didn't want to do that as the song set that kind of mood
Haha Sean it really has nothing to do with Ty's movies and his just voicing his opinion which I tend to agree with. It's all personal preference but it really depends what you're aiming for. With this video and previous videos it seems as though you've made what looks good to you and then posted it. I think it would be beneficial for you to take some constructive criticism on board and post something that appeals more to the majority of the audience...riders.

In response Nick, over 90% of comments say they loved it, in my eyes this video worked from the feedback, or in other worlds V.O.D. Just didnt work for you two. I take criticism on always, it's how you improve. I showed this video to Data Romance in order to use their music, and now i have them interested in mountain biking. My videos aren't just to appeal for riders, of-coarse that is a big percentage of my videos views however with my videos these days, im not trying to do the same old video like everyone does.

Nah don't get me wrong I still liked the video as from a filming perspective it was good but if I was just a rider it's not the kind of video that gets me excited to ride. It didn't really portray the riders speed for me, it could have been any punter really.

I could be wrong but I think Data Romance did a lot of the music for Life Cycles? I think a faster song could've helped more and a bit less slow motion too. Just seems like if you're going to get the opportunity to film a junior world champ you would probably want to show how fast they are rather than how much style they have. Nice video btw
Sure it would have been great to be able to capture the raw speed of Troy a little more, but hey that's clearly not what Sean wants to achieve. Not every video has to be balls out action, although at the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference. I don't think anyone is going to dispute that it was a great video, however it did definitely have a mellow feel.

Imagine having that feeling that you are the fastest junior on the planet in down hilling, Wow that must feel so awesome. And tbh that video matched why he is sponsored by such a good company and why he is actually the junior world champion, it was awesome. Well deserved VOD.
Troy trains harder than any other Junior on the circuit. He absolutely deserves World Champ. The kid works so damn hard n its awesome to see him succeed like this. He is truly dedicated to becoming the best rider in the world, props to him, n congrats Troy on WC
rossd03 your clearly suffering from jealousy. The WC circuit is all about consistency, hmmm go figure Troy won that cause he was the most consistent rider. WC Champs is about the best rider on the day & luck plays a part (Gee winning at Val Di Sole in 08 ). Lewis & Troy are both phenomenal riders, give it a few years and they'll both achieve greatness in DH (fingers crossed no injuries). Stop being a dick & hating on Troy, he clearly earned his rainbow jersey.
Full respect for Troy... what a weapon, I just can't wait for next season! Lew started to show what he is made of towards the end of the season, but in the end Troy had the consistency to claim the titles from round 1 onwards...
that kid was going fast.. trail looks like a fun speedy ride and that kid is lucky to have so much support for biking at that age. close up shots on his face and stuff was a bit weird, could have had a bit more energy in his facial expression haha. overall, definatly VOD worthy

That was the BEST downhill video I have ever seen, the editing and song choice flowed so well with the riding, not to mention that Troy is a shredder. Best Vod I've seen in a while.

yes it is the new 2011 one, however i spoke to troy and he said they didnt change the head angle, just made the back end thinner, as sam and brendan we're hitting they're feet on the linkage
